Yes Sir! Wurmy can pretty much do it all - air to air refueling, carrier landing, air to air combat, SEAD, JDAMs, you name it this boy can do it! Also he does not seem to mind having an old man talking none stop about the price of fish in Norway...so yeah BEST flight lead ever! Seriously though, he does a very good job with his throttle control as a flight lead, something I need more practise with, he almost never goes full afterburner and when he does it is for very short periods like at take off, and from what I have seen he also never flies with the throttle at 100% military, so as a wingman that saves me a lot of fuel.
-
Wurmy continues to impress - flew Vipers with him today (friday 27th of october) we did SEAD and JDAMs... Edit: got the date wrong....
-
I have not tried DCS after I updated it yesterday to 2.9 Gus, so I dont know. Also I feel we should maybe move this into discord or PM as right now I am sure Wurmy is wondering who these two elderly gentlemen are who has hijacked his welcome thread!? Just joking you are not elderly Gus - only I am.
-
Yes Gus, I guess you are right! Looking forward to flying quite loosely on your wing again in the near future! (And this time I promise not to crash into you!)

I messaged Bamse but he was at a restaurant with his wife when I came online, so he could not join us (no PC at the restaurant...) But I hope to get some flying with Bamse in the near future. Would have been great to have Bamse there as I know he can fly the FA-18C. By the way, I pulled rank and made Wormy lead the mission and I flew as a wingman....I can do that, right? Pull rank?? Anyway he did great leading and taking charge - so I think he will be a great flight lead in JG1 in the future - and I hope to be an adequate wingman....
-
Got to fly with Wurmy today and he is a very good pilot (much better than me, but I know that is not saying much...lol), I think we are lucky to have him! We flew FA-18C, with JDAMS, got intercepted by two mig 29s and I got shot down, Wurmy destroyed his target and flew home and landed at the carrier - I am back to cleaning the latrines I guess!?
-
Yes Sir...the new guy leading the old guy (me) around. I was quite impressed with Bamse's skills and knowlage! He even landed the FA-18C on the carrier - I got a 4 wire...and he got a 2 wire...hmmm....looks like I will be cleaning the latrines for a while...damn....
-
Just saw this myselfe and I was like "WHAT, our Vonrd?" and then I checked out the skin and it is awesome! Well done Sir, you certainly have some skills!

SPOILERS!!! Top Gun Maverick Discussion Thread
Erhardt replied to Shadepiece's topic in JG1 Videos & Screen Caps
I love flight of the Intruder - found the game (for my Amiga 500) in Kiel Germany during our summer holiday so I bought it - the book came with the game and I already had the movie, so game/book/movie perfect! And I really liked "Cole" in that movie! -
Klaiber...I was attempting to be funny Sir....like always...attempting.....

Welcome to the squadron @Zapp_Brannigan, look forward to meeting and flying with you Sir. You might find be a bit daft at first, but as you get to know me, you will find that I am really really daft!
-
Welcome to the squadron Graxh, I am the worst Mig21 pilot in the squadron (well the worst pilot in general really), look forward to flying on your wing Sir. When not flying you will find me cleaning out the latrines!
-
Really Britchot another fellow Swede in the Squadron! Joking! Welcome Comradeboris.
-
Thats funny Sonic - I am sometimes (by certain people) called bags - as I always carry the maximum amount of fuel so I can stay in burner more and go fast...while RTB“ing I am often heard saying "Mach 1.6 now..." lol
-
Yes we can certainly fly redfor for Iran - although I am not to keen to go up against US F-15s, FA-18Cs or F-16Cs with their Aim-120 missiles.... Saw that we will be getting several versions (released and sold seperatly), so we will be getting Navy F-4s as well, maybe even a British F-4?

Currently rereading this book: https://www.stellabooks.com/books/david-nicolle/arab-mig-19-and-mig-21-units-in-combat/1603891 Quite a few Arab pilots falling during combat with the Israeli, makes for sober reading - also some people dying when their short range Mig 21s run out of fuel and they try to eject or to force land. Have to say Mig pilots are brave people, glad I am not a Mig 21 or Mig 19 pilot......wait a sec....!?

Welcome to Jg1 Zeagle, I hope you will enjoy your time in the squadron! Look forward to flying on your wing! (I am the enternal wingman!)
-
Welcome Bussard, I hope you will enjoy your stay in Jg1 and I am really glad you know how to read a map (I cant read maps and last time I tried we took a wrong turn on the Autobahn and were heading towards Berlin instead of Kiel) - I shall always be 50 meters behind you like last time we flew - this way I will find my way back to base!
-
Welcome JTB Videos, look forward to flying with you Sir! (Norwegian GMT+1 here - also "I am the wingman")
-
Thanks for the video Lipfert, its like the pilot is saying: "this airplane has not killed enough people...what can I try...."
-
Welcome to Jg1 Sir, I look forward to flying close to you! By the way I am the Norwegian in the group...thought I would just throw that out there, in case you are wondering what I am trying to say or do - this is normal, its like that for everyone else as well - sometimes I dont even know why or what I am doing. # edit: oh, in case you havent figured it out - "Im the wingman" - Give me a good flightlead and I will never get lost.
-
I feel I would be spending a lot of time in a Su-22 if they ever made one as I do prefer ground attack to air to air in DCS or indeed any sim. Fighter pukes make movies - bomber pilots make history and that kind of shit....!
-
Welcome Spartan071 I hope you will enjoy flying with us and I look forward to flying with you Sir!

Problem with flying the Zero is its great 1 v 1, but once you throw in a wingman or two and they cover each other, the Zero has to fly straight and level to aim at its target as the targets wingman takes aim at the Zero and puuufff Zero (you) are on fire...we flew Zeros back in IL2 1946 and its great as long as you get to fight your "guy" alone, but in campaigns where the other side are using tactics and teamwork...its pretty bad...of course from 1943-1944 the Japanese get some better planes, and again, I would not want to fly the Zero in 1943, of course in eary war the Japanese also get the Ki43 which can turn even better than a Zero, but is slower has worse armament and is even more fragile...So if you want to fly Japanese mainly fly "army" planes in 1943 or later....But hey, I am no expert on the Pacific war or Japanese planes.
