Klai you should check out the CT Aerospace Museum at my airfield they got a bunch of old helicopters and they’re restoring a FG1D Corsair

Oddly enough I’ve never been to the factory… even though I grew up in Stratford. Our company was the main repair station for all their commercial aircraft (S76 and the S92). Once Lockheed Martin bought Sikorsky, they sold our side of the company to Flexjet (because Lockheed just does military). Now we’re like the Uber for billionaires. But I heard there’s talks of maybe Raytheon buying out Sikorsky. But that’s all just gossip in my book until I actually see changes. If Raytheon buys Sikorsky it’d be cool because they’ll probably start up the commercial side again.

Not yet Vonrd. Still just an old grease monkey.

Good evening jagdeschwader 1, It’s been a while since I took to the skies with my old squad mates. Life hit hard but all in good ways. Got my A&P license and currently maintain a fleet of Sikorsky helicopters. Second kid came along. Blah blah blah. That being said, I’m looking to get back into the skies. Eventually back into fixed wings (miss my old dreidecker)… but my career has a strong hold onto my rotorcraft brain. I upgraded my VR and just got my AH64D Apache collective from VIRPIL in the mail today. I’ve been mainly flying DCS in the Apache and the Huey. Seldomly the Hind and I have theChinook but still waiting for them to perfect the flying bus. My little crumb snatchers go to bed at 21:00 est. So I’m usually hopping into the sims around then. Would like to get some wingmen up there with me. Hope to see you soon. Salute Angry Goat

Definitely gonna try for a spot in the restoration department after my airframe and powerplant certifications are stored away

Took a trip to Old Rhinebeck this weekend. Nerded out with the chief mechanics and got up close and personal with the Fokker DVII

i saw the call for JG1 recruits from Hotlead today. figured i'd post my paint scheme for my flying razor... just in case a new skin pack is in the near future. Airframe and Powerplant training is real fun and challenging! Now that i'm back in the groove of things, i'll be back in the air with you guys! Salute!!! See you in the skies v_!_JG1_FokkerD8_angrygoat.dds

yeah Vonrd i was EXCEPTIONALLY surprised when they said we'd be learning fabric! we have a couple cubs in the shop so i lucked out. Plus being close enough to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome... if i get good enough, there's a possibility i could be working on a real Dr.1 or Camel in the future. we've been doing Maintenance Publications and regulations for the past month. feel like i'm in law school! But coming from the automotive industry, a lot of things are similar with how recalls and tsb's are setup. So one more step for Goat getting his wings

So recently I remember my grandfather’s best friend and next door neighbor flew P38s and P39s in the war. His name was Joseph B. Maley. He was a part of the 32nd Air Operations “the spitting wolfhounds.” So I started diving deep into Internet searching and to my surprise, I found an AWESOME picture of him posing on his P38 “Shanty Irish”. Was wondering if anyone could help me out with finding markings or paint colors? Seeing I only have one black and white photo, I feel like there’ll be a lot of guessing. But would love to recreate it and fly it in his honor. I feel bad that I was too young at the time to really appreciate talking to him and can only wish to be able to pick his brain about his time in aviation.

Spreading the American Muscle Night skins to P38s. I used the markings for the lightning scripted campaign the 485th v_!_JG1_P38J25_Goat.dds

Sounds great! You wanna pick a squadron to base it off of? Then we could have another group of planes matching. I know I kind of grandfathered myself with picking the squadron for the P47s

The General and I have been using the 56th fg as our base paint schemes (AKA: Zemke's Wolfpack 61st,62nd,63rd) for our Sunday American Muscle. Pretty fun if anyone wants to join... Or if you're Vonrd and would like to see a nice paint scheme before he blows it out of the sky!!!

Hey guys not sure when I’ll be back. The wind storm took out our power in the area. Left 45% of the town dark. Give ‘‘em hell!! And tell the ground crew to polish and clean my machines for upon my return. SALUTE Angry Goat
