They run 300 Euro! I found a mod to get rid of the center detent on my Saitek Pro Flight Pedals, I'm doing that this afternoon. Maybe that will buy me a year or two of contentment so the Mrs. doesn't have a reason to kill me.

$40 also gets you into a raffle for a set of custom engraved Milan MFG pedals over on the ATAG forums. I'm hesitant to drop any money on the Kickstarter but I'm thinking a raffle ticket for a set of those tasty pieces of kit is worth it. http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5635 Edit: Keep in mind, it is if they have 1,000 forum linked donations of $40 or more.

I'm all for investing my money into DCS's titles but this one has me a bit nervous, I admit. I think I'll back the basic level on this one.
-
There are a few fantastic meetings throughout, but I see the value of entertainment in it.
-
Just finished the series and I recommend it. It's a story of 5 friends and what happens to them throughout the war in the east. It's certainly an interesting view from the German side, a lot like watching Stalingrad.
-
Out of those two options I hope for the $50 for a map + new aircraft! I'm curious to what they are planning on as well.

Attaching a subtitle file on VLC is easy.
-
I managed to find a torrent of the series that includes English subtitles. Now I just need to figure out what video player will recognize the subs or get cracking on my advanced Deutsch.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1883092/ Also known as "Generation War" is going to be aired on BBC2 soon. I'll probably not be able to catch it there, either. Does anyone know where I can get this movie? My Google-Fu has been failing.

I've mentioned that elsewhere, previously. My main concern is how the RoF engine will hold up with the added ground objects and their details. They are certainly adding several bells and whistles to the ground items and that is definitely going to increase the load on that engine. I'm just hoping it stays below the optimum levels so we don't wind up with another CloD.

Wow, the only thing I've got an edge on is RAM and a little on the Quadcore CPU. I think I'll hold what I have for a little bit then possible upgrade to a 2mb video card before getting a new MoBo.
-
I just got an email from 1C Game Studios that clarified the rear gunner. I do hope (and honestly, expect) that the rear gunner is an unlock that people can get in the SP campaign as they have mentioned before.

It's still pre-alpha but I believe the video in the pre-order teaser was about 75% gameplay footage that was sweetened up with some cinematic touches. For example, the IL-2s strafing the train and the people are running out to the sides but the developers have already mentioned that infantry will not be included in order to free up resources. Here are some in-game footage videos posted by 1C.

I'm in the exact same situation. I built my rig in May of '08 to what was the best components of that time. I've only upgraded my video card to basically replace an SLI pair with a single card to reduce resources on the MoBo and finally overclocked the CPU. I could barely run CloD online until the ATAG patch, too. My confidence lies in the fact that they are using RoF as a baseline for development. Even if the resource needs are somewhere between RoF and CloD (pre-ATAG) you and I should be alright. My back-up plan is my wishlist on Newegg, a new CPU and MoBo with my remaining components intact.

I went with the premium edition. I would certainly wind up buying the 190 as soon as I could, anyway. Between that and the fact I like to support projects I have hope in, like Star Citizen, it was a no-brainer for me.
-
That was a good read. Though it's always too early to tell at an alpha or even a beta stage, I'm looking forward to the release and have already pre-ordered to support the companies building the game. There are a few decent gameplay videos from that event that 1C linked on their twitter account.

Thanks Raven

Nice video! I've preordered and am anxiously awaiting this autumn

I was just reading through my work related emails and had an item forwarded from one "Eric Barton." Did you get a job at General Atomics?
-
Glad to hear you are doing well. It was Macy's design and my material but I'm just happy it's going to good use.

I flew with Trev in UH-1Hs on a server with ~140 ping, it would lag a lot. Several times Trev's bird would hit the ground then pop right back up to flight. This only had about 30 people out of a 64 slot server. They definitely need to refine their net code.

Sounds fine to me. DCS can supply me with all the super-detailed, study sims and single/low # online player games that I have to dial the settings down to med/low to enjoy. While 777 gives me beautiful, larger scale online sims with simple controls. I'll buy both!

I read some more and from Jason he mentioned the armor plate in the 109. You can have a mod where you can remove the plate if you'd like, leaving yourself vulnerable but increasing visibility, but that was only earned through multiplayer. If it's stuff like that, fine. I'm not going to get all up in arms with it, I'll get it, regardless.
