  1. I missed this post from DCS 3rd party developer, VEAO back in July. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127100 And my response: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2170661#post2170661 So, you'll know where to find me late next year
  2. This gave me a great idea for a diorama! The spray gun ground crew from this set overspraying the camo on a Bf-109E-1. Ahh, if only my talent can catch up with my ideas
  3. So, I've done some cursory reading of JG3 "Udet" in WWII: Stab and I/JG3 and there was quite a bit of transition between the 1939 and 1940 paint schemes. JG3 actually oversprayed their aircraft with the light blue (RLM 65?) and only painted their tails up to the horizontal stabilizer. This gave them a unique look of a darkened tip on their aircraft. I found it interesting. Perhaps it's just because we're going into CloD full steam right now but I rate that book pretty high on my list in my personal collection.
  4. I know Klaiber will chime in with a much more articulate response than I but mine will be quicker. As far as WWII goes, II./JG1 just finished up our last official IL-2: 1946 tournament with Ghost Skies and will be transitioning that tournament over to IL-2: Cliffs of Dover, patched with Team Fusion's latest mod. We have several pilots testing IL-2: Battle of Stalingrad and we're collectively looking forward the what that sim can bring us, as well. So we're definitely here
  5. The kickstarter options are no longer available, these were raised back when Luthier was still in charge. Now the only options to purchase are DCS releases.
  6. Okay, for those that haven't been following the DCS: 1944 backers drama, here's a synopsis: Luthier (quit/fired) is gone and ED took over: http://forum.jg1.org/index.php?showtopic=2274 and http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125454 If you participated in the kickstarter for Luthier, your rewards were revamped by ED in what, to me, seems fair. The new "backer" rewards are as follows ( http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=126712 ): For backers, you can go to https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/backer/ and select your appropriate reward(s). Save this link, there is nowhere you can link to it on DCS's main page. For me, I wound up with 2 aircraft and the Normandy map for $50, that's fair in my book. These planes cost something like $50 each and I get them for less than 1/2 (I don't know what the map will cost). With that, I'm the proud owner of the Dora and am awaiting the 109K-4's release date. I will buy the remainder, eventually. However, you won't find me in a Mustang (at least the armed version) until there is a sale. At least with the Dora I don't need to learn the various weapons systems and nuclear bomb delivery methods like the F-86F
  7. Nicely found, those are the best composites I've seen yet. It's amazing how 100 years ago doesn't seem that far away with all the photos and simulators out there.
  8. I'm just going to wait for ED to release 1944, I love them as a company but I'm not buying any more duplicates, especially at that price point. I have the stand alone Su-25 but that cost me $15 and I bought FC3 afterwards, too. The Fishbed is coming home as soon as it hits the streets, though. DDR skins, too! Trev's MoBo is the wrong socket, btw (1155 instead of an 1150)
  9. Trev and I have already purchased it. Trev will finally be moving forward on his MoBo this weekend. I got a sortie in on the aircraft, it's very much a beta right now. However, it's quite fun and simple, especially compared to the A-10C. I don't think they have a lot of the systems working yet or I just didn't hit the right switches. Of course, I didn't read a single manual...
  10. The beta has released. Although I'd rather have the Mig-15, I'm excited to fly this one until the Mig-21 is released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJSBk1VLxhw
  11. Great work guys! Your continued teamwork and individual efforts are inspiring.
  12. Wow, too stupid and addicting! Here's the "tall goat" I've unlocked:
  13. haha, it better be in kind have you found the jetpack yet?
  14. Check your steam!
  15. http://store.steampowered.com/app/265930/ 40% off this weekend. I know two JG1 pilots that own this simulator now
  16. Yeah, they didn't really fact check that image before going to the printers. It is an entertaining read, with stories instead of simple facts and sorties.
  17. I read The Few about 3 years ago, I picked it up at a book store in Kauai on my honeymoon. It is quite a good read, and I always think of the American that burned up in the cockpit when I fly a Hurricane in CloD.
  18. Lipfert, it's been >2 weeks, how are the pedals? I would love to hear a quick review from you. I'm pretty close to tipping off the fence and grabbing a set, myself.
  19. That's about 1/2 of what I paid for www.dwvac.com I have found voice commands invaluable in DCS.
  20. I'll still be holding out until the whole DCS: 1944 is released. I love ED and what they do but I'm not ready to buy another duplicate key.
  21. Congratulations and please accept my deepest gratitude for stepping up where I was unable to continue.
  22. I'm not going to lie, that's awesome. Maybe my Saitek rudder pedals will break soon... with a hammer.
  23. Wow, that was an awesome game!
  24. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/brazil2014/pre-game/world-cup-pre-game-usa-vs-portugal-1.2683603 Game on!
  25. I picked up the remaining aircraft and field mods. I couldn't justify the weapon mods, though.
