Klaiber Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago After an update to my Meta Quest 2, the link to the PC kept breaking. The headset would freeze, while the PC display still worked. Others were outlining the same issue here: https://communityforums.atmeta.com/discussions/link-v207-troubleshooting/the-latest-updates-have-rendered-meta-quest-pc-link-completely-unusable-/1381668 For anyone struggling with this, here is the fix: https://communityforums.atmeta.com/discussions/link-v207-troubleshooting/the-latest-updates-have-rendered-meta-quest-pc-link-completely-unusable-/1381668/replies/1381703 Quote If you go to C:\Program Files\Meta Horizon\Support\oculus-diagnostics and open the OculusDebugTool.exe, look for Video Codec and change it from default to H.265. Not all GPUs support H.265, though. You need a GPU that supports AV1 video encoding. Quote
Moxy Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago ~S~ Glad you got it working! I just went through a bout with my quest 3...of course it was all meta. Link, for myself, went through a series of updates,(about 3 a week), for the new operating system... Just FYI H.265 is the successor to 264, Faster but demands more power. AVI is native to AMD gpu's. and is really good. Virtual Desktop, is becoming outstanding! Their working on direct usb connect, in conjunction with their wifi. The direct usb connect has a problem currently, with disconnects on intel cpus, and certain cables. I ran experiments a few weeks ago, I get more power, but got the discos. VD, has so many features, conducive to DCS, and if I can usb direct link. Meta and oculus tool tray will be replaced! Have fun Quote
