Vonrd's heli lesson

My wife got me an introductory lesson in an R-22 for my birthday. Thank you Karin!

It went really well and I attribute it to flying helicopters in DCS. The CFI gave me full control once in the air and I did some fairly gentle maneuvering and found it to be not as twitchy as I thought it would be and pretty easy in forward flight. She brought it down to the heli-pad and let me hover. No issues there as well even though there was about 15 kts of wind. Not rock solid but I kept heading and mostly within the heli-pad. She said that she's going to recommend flight sims to her students. I'm considering going again but not for a full rating. Way too much $$$.
