I'd say have the frontline recon trigger the trench attack and the general spawn the reserve unit. Makes more sense that way imo. Using the strategic recon to spawn the entent reserve unit is also a great idea.

Or invert the point count for general and spy. Make the general worth 3 points and the spy worth 2. Spy is almost impossible to defend and hasn't been defended recently while the General gets capped every time. Should be worth more points to go into a mission that is easier and more likely to be guarded than one where you almost never run into trouble. In the half dozen times I escorted Loopy we only ran across one Camel and I'm not sure if he didn't just happen to be in the area. Or make them both spies and worth the same.

Thanks everyone! Not in every case! I wasn't quite at full throttle and I'd been flying level for some time. He also came down like a meteor so in this case they are faster. If you watch him closely in the external view while he's coming down at me it seems you can see his plane shaking a bit from the speed! I got lucky he wasn't more aggressive! I thought I was screwed when I saw him.

Congrats Rotermann and thanks everyone! We put a hell of an effort together for last mission and got lucky that Blue team shot themselves in the foot in a couple of ways. Now we just need to drop the hammer next mission and seal the deal!

Thanks guys! Yeah we got super lucky finding the train! Probably would have found it sooner if it was not for the flak from their airbase being so thick over that area. When I saw the D.VIII coming right at me The first thing that came to my mind was I can't let him hit my engine and I panicked a little. Even after seeing parts fly off I was still quite relieved to not see oil. Von Myakin did a good job. I was really trying to jack him up on that first pass and really pushed my pass to the limit. When I watched it frame by frame you see him pass like 2 or 3 feet above my wing. It was stupid close.

Likely was him. He was shot down by Baron in a Camel. It's even more impressive when you consider that he'd been wounded by Thomas before our fight.

He got the rolling part right but he never forced the scissors. He got close at the end but he didn't take the vertical to shave speed and force the overshoot so I took the vertical to prevent it and it was all over for him from there.
