  5. I have a Creative Fatal1ty gaming headset. Got it for about $20. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002DS4HTM/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=40962880315&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12429719920441125244&hvpone=24.95&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_6f5k2w4xub_b
  6. So glad to see you here, VonWrecker! Teamspeak microphone/headsets aren't too spendy. I got mine for around $20 over a year ago and it's still kickin'. The Teamspeak program is free to download as well. When you want to try setting it up, this article might be helpful: http://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/45889-roger-beginners-guide-teamspeak/ TrackIR is a little more expensive...to the tune of about $150 last time I checked. However, it is one of the best flight sim investments I ever made, although I had to save up a while before I got it lol. Looking forward to seeing you in the virtual skies! S! - Hotlead
  7. Cool! Thanks for sharing!
  8. WOW. Way to keep your head in a bad situation. Enjoyed it immensely!
  9. I'll second that! Prosit!
  10. So glad to hear from ya again, Shnoze! I'll be praying for you mate. Here's to a swift recovery! S! - Hotlead
  11. Thanks guys! I actually have a video of the landing itself. Might have to upload that sometime. New "Memorable ROF Moments" episode perhaps? ^^
  12. Very cool! Wish I could have been there!
  13. Tonight I was on Wargrounds bashing around in my Pfalz D.IIIa. On one of my sorties, I encountered the enemy's recon trying to return to base, close to 1000 meters above the ground. I took shots at him, and as I got closer, I could see that his propeller was stopped, but that he might have enough altitude to glide back to a friendly field, so I pressed my attack in the hopes of knocking him out of the sky. Things went along well until I heard bullets from his tail turret impact my airframe and then heard the terrible crunching sound of wings peeling away. Amazingly, I was able to nurse my wounded bird down from 1000 meters high to the trenches and land her. I couldn't believe my survival at the time, and remarked I'd have to shoot some screenshots, since I had no external views to see the full extent of the damage done. When I took a look at the track I shot, I was even further amazed: I had miraculously landed my wounded bird without any upper wings at all! Now, I'm no Ace pilot and I've died plenty of times but I guess I got lucky this time. Thank goodness I didn't try to make any sudden moves!!!
  14. Lol I wish. That's actually our garage door light. (We did all our green screening in our garage.)
  15. Thanks for the kind words Kempf! What we're doing is green-screening actual actors and digitally subbing them into footage from Rise of Flight. All the extra visual stuff you see (like the balloon exploding, pilot on the ground, and cool orange sky) would be the work of my younger brother Shaw. He does all the special effects and doctors up the raw ROF footage in a program called Hitfilm 2 Ultimate. Thanks to him, "Legend of Murvaux" looks 100x better than if I had tried to do it all on my own. I really think he might have a career ahead as a graphic designer or film editor. Here's a couple photos of our green screen rig all set up:
  16. Voted!
  17. Voted!
  18. Lol! Nice!
  19. Aw, thanks guys! You all are what makes my & my team's projects worthwhile!
  20. Salute all! My younger brother and I have been working on a short film/documentary concerning WW1 Ace Frank Luke Jr.'s final flight. We actually started on the project way back in 2013, but have had to set it aside at various points along the way due to real life concerns. I released a post about our effort on the Rise of Flight forums in 2014, promising a trailer for the film. ( http://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/44210-frank-luke-jrs-last-flight-today-rof-movie-progress/?p=652723) Well...after more than a year, it's finally here! The short film itself is in the final stages of editing. Then we'll present it to our test audience, make the necessary tweaks, and publish it to YouTube!
  21. Awesome work Butzzell! I love them!

  24. Salute all! Today being Thanksgiving Day, I would like to take a moment to thank all you guys at JG1. You guys make JG1 an ideal squad to belong to, and I'm thankful to be a part of it. Thanks for all the training, cameradrie, and shared knowledge. Ever since I joined, I've experienced whole new facets of ROF (like FiF!) that I never would have found without you. It's truly been a great ride. Thanks again, - Hotlead
