You know what I hate about most forums? The idea that a person can only post something if it's new, or they can't post something until they've extensively used the search feature. Also, I really hate it when mods say something like, please use this thread over here to post requests/comments/suggestions/etc concerning subject AAA. I know we don't have these problems here, but to make it certain - we won't have that crap here.

My Hava Platinum HD PVR arrived today and I decided to try it out with Rocksmith. For those that aren't familiar with Rocksmith, it's a guitar game in which you use a real guitar to play songs. It's very cool and innovative. I've been playing it about 2 months now and have a blast. I chose a song called Angela by Jarvis Cocker, because it's the easiest song to play on Rocksmith. I've been up for almost 48 hours working 30 straight... so... yeah... I needed an easy song to try. [YOUTUBE] [/YOUTUBE]

Have him try again. We've found that a handful of users had issues during sign up and associated user folders were not created. I created the folders and he shouldn't be logged out.

My chair is wheeled too - I ended up placing a throw rug underneath and loosening the resistance of the pedals as much as possible. All X-52 have that slight twist even when locked, it's just the stick moving to meet the lock.

This one's quite different - changed up some link locations.

New skin - Red & Grey

The sites have been upgraded. Oesau went fine but Richthofen has an issue with the Login and User tab on the menu. The skin is an Artisteer Version 2 skin, I need to rebuild it with Version 3. That should take care of the error message users are getting right under the menu. Edit: Skin's been recompiled - error is gone, but there is blue text on content - need to assign the correct module.

The sites have been upgraded. I will still be testing so be mindful of what you post. If we have to revert some things may be lost.

Some of you may be having "problems" with avatars. First off, don't do any "profile" updates here in the forums. The correct place to do it is your site profile page and you can get to it by clicking your name in the site menu bar. The reason I'd rather every one do profile updates there is that it will apply to the whole site. Another reason is this forum doesn't match the profile correctly and actually has some issues. At any rate, the avatars. We found the reason some of us, including myself, couldn't upload avatars in our site profile page. If you are having troubles uploading a profile avatar please let me know. (you will get a red error message when trying to upload a photo.) I will have to go in as the superuser account and assign permissions for those that have problems. There is still a small issue of displaying the avatar in the site profile, but it will display here in the forums.

Most notably to users, internet explorer users shouldn't have to toggle the compatibility button on and off depending on what they are doing (fingers crossed). It should only take a few hours to upgrade but I want to make sure everyone is prepared. Before the upgrade, be sure and save a copy of the link to the forums here. This will help you get to the forums if the upgrade fouls the menu, as it did last during the last upgrade. Get all the teamspeak information you need before this weekend as the site may be down at the most inconvenient time for you, such as when you re-install teamspeak.

Probably could edit the skin and change it to something else. Might be able to do that if we find a skin that we like for the forums.

The forums were dependent upon session & cookies to perform read tracking. When we upgraded the the forums that was reset and all threads were showing new. Now we are using DB read tracking and should not run into that in the future. However, the current state is that many people still show all threads as new. To actually see the newest threads be sure and check out the latest activity at the bottom of the forums when looking at the top level. To mark threads as read, without going to each and every thread, go into the particular forum, such as "All Things Considered" and at the bottom there is a link to "Mark all threads as read." Clicking that will mark all the threads, in that forum as read. There is the same feature if you view the "Category" as well, such as "General."

There is a forum feature that previously caused havoc with the forums, Thanks. There is a button one each post that will allow you to thank the poster for the information. It appears to work properly, but just in case, I have backed up the database and if it proves to cause issues, we'll revert back.
