Looks like that forum had registered users as read only access. I must have overlooked it - now registered users can post there.

Not sure for about his issue' date=' but I am getting the following DotNetNuke error a lot via I.E. 9: "<HTML><META HTTP-EQUIV="content-type" CONTENT="text/html;charset=utf-8"> <H2>DotNetNuke Error</H2> <HR> <P> <TABLE border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="4"> <TBODY> <TR> <TD vAlign="top" align="left"><IMG style="border-width: 0px;" id="ctl00_imgIcon" title="Error" alt="Error" src="../images/red-error.gif"></TD> <TD vAlign="middle" align="left"><SPAN id="ctl00_lblHeading" class="NormalRed">An error has occurred.<BR></SPAN><SPAN id="ctl00_lblMessage" class="Normal">An error has occurred.</SPAN></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> <HR SIZE="1" noShade="noshade"> <P></P>" Seems to work ok with Firefox tho... [/quote'] If you are in compatibility mode in IE, turn it off. If you aren't in compatibility mode in IE, try turning it on for these forums. I'm not an IE fan, so I don't know which way it works best.

Actually we do - 783 unique visitors last month, 23,000 page views and an average of 7:35 minutes on the site, with August 3rd with the highest average time on site of 15 minutes. There are many reasons but in a nutshell it's staying how it is.

my guess is - you are trying to "get in thru the front page" using www.jg1.org or www.jg1.org/richthofen/ Since you are not registered on either of those, it's showing you the login. You use that log in, and are unsuccessful, because you are not registered there in either case, and since the login code erases the cookies for the domain jg1.org, well you are no longer logged in here at oesau. http://www.jg1.org/tabid/116/g/posts/t/9/Website-Instructions.aspx

well poop I had hoped to work some more on the server side coding. but that requires them fixing the OnTakeoff event not working.

Also, edit the bookmark and copy & paste the url here exactly as it is in your bookmark.
-
Out of curiosity. What is your default browser? What page does your bookmark go to? What browser are you using to visit the "front page." What "front page" are you referring to? The oesau home page @ http://www.jg1.org/oesau/home.aspx ? The generic landing site for all of jg1 @ http://www.jg1.org/ ? or the landing page for richthofen @ http://www.jg1.org/richthofen/Home.aspx ?

Checking the logs, you logged in at 12:35 PM today, ~1 PM made the first post in this thread. Then made your second post about 2PM. Made your third about 2:45. All without logging in every twenty minutes.

Some websites automatically resize the posted photos...just saying If you mean the forums, I didn't write it. These guys did. http://yetanotherforum.net/

Like I said, session has nothing to do with security. Session is by which calls to the website are maintained "open" The longer they are maintained open, the more resources are being consumed. For instance, I user comes to the site, and reads a page on the forums. DB connections and memory are maintained to complete those requests and to handle any additional requests. If that user walks away from the computer for hours, those resources are tied up. Session is only for current "session" work. It's not going to be maintained so people bring up the site and then don't use it. Just not going to happen. There are people that may write for a long time, say an hour, and I will extend session a bit for that. But not only can I not make session infinite, I wouldn't. It's just not feasible. Remember Me: If it does not work for you check your system. All it does is write a cookie to your cache and the "browsers" checks that. If you don't have cookies enabled, then it wont work.

The only difference I see is the listing here on the forums. The forums piece is a third party and I don't have any direct control over that. There's a lot of similar quirks like that. I "think" it's calculating that based on your time zone. As your birthday is listed as 4/19/1976 12:00 AM and you time zone is -7, I think it's making the adjustment to 4/18/1976 5:00 PM. try changing you birthday time to 8:00 AM or something like that.

Login isn't limited to 20 minutes' date=' that's session totally different thing. If you use the 'remember me' you will be logged in for the day. Security is my concern so don't worry about what's a big deal and what's not. See "remember me"

yeah we are already planning a new skin with the contrast issues and these 3rd party forums not playing nice.
-
yeah - good job... /rolleyes

what's your birthday? what date is it showing? was it set incorrectly at one time and then fixed?

I have removed the http://oesau.jg1.org/ route of accessing the site. It was causing issues with security and logging people out as they found ways to go from one route to another within the same session. If anyone complains about the site being down, tell them to access the site through http:/www.jg1.org/oesau/ and to update any bookmarks.

If you are a member of II.JG1 and can't see all of the forums or all of the member content on the site, let us know. It takes an additional step to grant member access and it may have been over looked.

Very nice INDEED!

Also, if there are new posts in a forum the icons change. The folders on the left change to a folder with a plus sign, and for that forum will have the icons on the right change red as well, Go To Last Post and Go to last unread. If you use these, make sure to refresh the page (forum list ) if you use the back button.

But it doubles as a sprinkler system. No more worries if your video cards get to hot.

Not a big youtube user, but can't you group videos together to play one after another? If you can do that, I'll see about putting this on the site.
