Hi Everyone, FIF XXV is almost here! All of the information regarding the new event has been posted on the JG1 forums. And the registrations have opened for anyone who hasn't flown before. Remember, if you have participated in the past, you are STILL registered and signed up. . . . This Saturday, October 8th will be a test / orientation mission. It will kick off at 2PM EDT / 6PM UTC. The mission will be run on the JG1 FIF server. The server password (if there is one) will be handed out via teamspeak prior to mission launch. Also, please note that Teams have not yet been finalized! We will be using this upcoming orientation mission to help us determine a better team balance. As a result, please be patient as we figure out where to place everyone. And please try to attend this weekend if you can! The more people we have, the more accurate our team numbers will be! Here is the complete FIF XXV schedule: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/4320-fif-xxv-teams/ The event should officially kick off on Saturday, October 15th, and will run into December. . . . Regarding TeamSpeak: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/3955-fif-teamspeak-servers/ The Red Team is currently hosted by JG1. The Blue Team is currently hosted by New Wings. The Unofficial public ROF Teamspeak 3 Server is always used as a back up for both teams. . . . Hope to see you all there!

Hi Forest, Welcome! Thanks for checking us out. I'll drop you an email later today.

Amazing pictures Lee! Makes me wish Virginia was closer!

This is really awful news, Luft... I didn't know Osten very well, but I definitely remember talking with him on TeamSpeak. Both about FIF and ROF in general. He was a great guy, who I always enjoyed flying with. Please let me know if the Black Haze plan on doing anything to eulogize him. JG1 would be more than happy to help plan or coordinate any memorial event. A missing man formation, for example, would be a great tribute. And I hope that someone is in contact Osten's family. They should know how much he meant to all of us. My prayers and heartfelt condolences.

Hi Manu, You're still all set for the Red Team.

Awesome!

Velt! Great to hear from you man! How have you been? I'll drop you an email tonight. Looking forward to catching up.

Great news!

I'm glad you got it working Drucker! We should be online Tuesday and Thursday to fly some CloD.

That's pretty good. I've never heard of them before, but I like it.

Oh, good point!

He was trying the E-1. But I'm curious what would happen with the E-4. Drucker, have you had any better luck?

I like them.

Moving out is a great song. I've always really liked Allentown, The Downeaster Alexa and of course Goodnight Saigon too. Speaking of Goodnight Saigon, and going off on a tangent, another song about the horrors of war that I've always really liked is Dire Straits' Brothers In Arms: The part that always gets me right in the feels is the second verse. I won't copy the lyrics here, as I think to read them lessens the impact slightly. It's best to feel it in the song.

I should mention to anyone who wasn't around last night, this is a CloD issue. I even gave Drucker my ini file with my controls in it, thinking that it might be some sort of conflict. But that didn't do anything.

And Ghost too:

Periphery reminds me a lot of harder-edged Coheed and Cambria. I like them a lot! I really like Animals as Leaders too. I've never heard of them, but the bass player is sick. I've also been listening to Ty Segall's album Manipulator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnMCqI199pE And Baroness:

Hi Manu, I'm not sure what your timezone or schedule is like, but we're going to be trying to bring FIF back to Wednesdays this Fall. We'll keep you posted.

Thought I'd revive this thread. Here's what I'm listening to today:

Yeah TF 5.0 looks amazing. I can't wait for it. Personally, I think it's going to be game changing.

Insane! We need to direct Wurg to this thread.

Hi Daedallus, You're all set for the Blue Team. Make sure to look for their team-specific area on the FIF boards. Because we're in-between campaigns, there won't be very much there. But, it should have the TS information. And things will pick up after Jasta 5's Black September ends. Looking forward to flying with you! -Klaiber

That's a really good question.

Brit beat me to it.
