That's really cool! The He 100 and He 112 were both wonderful aircraft that, for whatever reason, never made it to full scale production. But the Germans definitely used them for propaganda, sometimes calling them He 113s. Mostly to make the Allies think that there were large numbers of them in elite squadrons.

And if you're curious, someone actually did it again in 2005.

That's amazing Labroisse! For a comparison, here are photographs taken during / after the battle: http://ww1.canada.com/battlefront/images-remarkable-photographs-show-ruined-pictures-of-verdun Honestly, that video reminds me so much of the April 1906 film of San Francisco called "A Trip Down Market Street" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz4AmeSApBE&feature=youtu.be The earthquake would happen a week later! Here is the same route post-earthquake. It doesn't even look like the same place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-rP7pRPSDI&feature=youtu.be

Merci!

Did I ever mention that we had another ordained person in JG1 once? Way back in Red Baron 3D. Butzzell probably remembers him better than I do. He went by Friar. I *think* he was a Brother. Not sure if he was Roman Catholic or Anglican.

Hi Gunner, Thanks for stopping by the forums! JG1 definitely flies DCS, but we mostly concentration on Cliffs of Dover, Battle of Stalingrad and Rise of Flight. Would that be a problem? Just let me know.

Congrats Somnus! That's great news!

That's ridiculous! The Su-25 looks so bizarre in Space... You definitely have a talent for finding these things in videos and movies!

FiF XXIV Final format and minor changes
Klaiber replied to Butzzell's topic in FIF General Discussion
I'll send out an announcement, and update the tournament info. Btw: I think you mean June 25th, not 28th. -
Hey Stadler! Great to hear from you. I'll drop you a line tonight.

Hi Bandy, The plane-set is something that is still being worked on. What is currently posted may not be what we finally use. This was one of the reasons why we wanted a server test and a dry-run. Since the main focus of FIF XXIV has been to both use the float planes and do something new, we're attempting to stay true to that within the current limitations of the game. Something that should be considered in all FIF plane-set discussions is that there is no longer an Entente team or a Central team. As Blue and Red, both teams will need to fly both sets of aircraft. As a result, we're attempting to approach this issue as bias-free as possible. If the current Entente scout aircraft were maintained just the way they are (Nieuport 28 / HD1 / HD2 / Spad 7 180 hp), what Central planes do you feel offer the best competition? Another question for you - if we removed the Entente scout weapon mod restrictions, but left the Central weapon mods restrictions in place, would that do anything to address your concerns? Thanks for your thoughts!

Hi Flashy, You're all set for the Blue Team. As I mentioned to Ivan, make sure to get the TS information from the Blue section of the boards. Looking forward to flying with you!

Hi Sherman, You're all set for the Red Team. Welcome!

The test should be at 2PM EDT / 6PM UTC. Both teams will be meeting on their TS servers before launch.

Cool, thanks Kojack! Much appreciated. Btw: I removed your email address so you don't get spam. I'll drop you an email soon.

I've been attempting to record JG1's history. Specifically, who was in command at what time. It's a project that I began years ago. But as time has passed, the available records have become harder to come by. Do you mind if I send you the Excel file? If you had any additional information or dates, I'd be very appreciative. I have the broad strokes, but there are of course gaps. Let me know.

That was the Jasta you were in, right? Jasta 6, I mean. When I first joined JG1 in 2001, that was the Jasta that I was assigned to as well. Have a lot of good memories of flying with Moritz, Wolfgang von Welhausen and Graser. Btw: I just thought of something - when you mentioned Wolfgang earlier, did you mean von Jager?
