Johnny Burnette's version is my personal favorite. The fuzz tone on the solo is killer for 1956. Many historians have said its the first recorded example of intentionally distorted guitar in rock music. And once you hear the Tiny Bradshaw 1951 original, it becomes really clear that The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, and Aerosmith are being inspired by Burnette. The B-side, Honey Hush, is also kick-ass. The Rock and Roll Trio really should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Hi Hauggy, You're still signed up for the Blue Team. Let me know if you have any troubles seeing the Blue Team area. They meet on the Jasta 5 TeamSpeak. As I mentioned above, FIF is on Saturdays at 2PM EDT / 6PM UTC. Come a few minutes early. The server password is passed out via TeamSpeak. Welcome back!

Fixed it. You had the youtube.com part right. But because the URLs had a time stamp in them, they weren't working. The forum doesn't like time stamps for youtube vids. If it says =0s at the end, that's telling it to start at 0 seconds. Which it doesn't like. And if it says ...watch... in the middle of the URL, that's another indicator that it won't work.

Hi Von Dervare, Welcome! You've been assigned to the Red Team. The Red Team uses JG1's TeamSpeak server. When you login to the forums again, you should see the Red Team area of the boards. The pinned post at the top has JG1's TS info. Let me know if you have any trouble locating it. The tournament calendar is here: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/3010-flanders-in-flames-calendar/ We meet on Saturdays at 2PM EDT / 6PM UTC. My advice would be come a few minutes early. The server password is passed out via TeamSpeak. And you'll need to collect your mission orders for the team commanders. Also, make sure to check the aircraft in the event. You don't have to have all of the aircraft, but should have enough to fly. We're in the middle of Phase B: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/6457-fif-2019-winter-campaign-plane-set/ The Red Team will be moving to the German-side on Saturday, March 16th.

I've moved this topic to the General Discussions area. -
We'd probably fly for both the Allies and the Japanese. We don't really have a thematic stake in the Pacific theater, after all.
