Klaiber Posted April 28, 2019 Report Posted April 28, 2019 Wow. Unfortunately, I think it's EUR 4,900. Eek. Quote
Lee Posted May 2, 2019 Report Posted May 2, 2019 Oculus is releasing their Oculus Rift S. Supposed to be better optics, but the big plus I see is the tracking sensors are built into the headset. Gives you room scale VR while eliminating the need for external sensors, each of which needs its own USB port and full room scale uses three of them. https://www.oculus.com/rift-s/?&utm_source=gg&utm_medium=a_ps&utm_term=oculus%20rift%20s&utm_campaign=1828267642&utm_content=345439811735&utm_parent=rift-s&utm_ad=70308409660&utm_location=9008535&utm_location2=&utm_placement=kwd-390594492938&utm_adposition=1t1&utm_device=t&utm_matchtype=p&utm_feed=&gclid=CNHDnK3h_OECFcmmswodr4UKQg&gclsrc=ds Snaggle, Lipfert and Klaiber 3 Quote

I love the fact you only need 1 USB port. Quote
Britchot Posted May 2, 2019 Report Posted May 2, 2019 I’m leaning more towards the HP Reverb (releasing May 6th for $600) or the Valve Index (shipping July 31st for $700-1,000). If you already have a Vive, I think you can save on some components for the Valve. The Rift S doesn’t improve enough for me to want to stick with Oculus. However, stepping up from a Rift CV1 and probably having to move to a new house, soon, I’m trying not to break the bank. Klaiber and Lipfert 2 Quote

Britchot Posted May 2, 2019 Report Posted May 2, 2019 And time. I’m itching to get rid of the CV1 (and dump it on my GF/RIO). Klaiber and Karl Spackler 2 Quote
