  1. The nav lights have been an issue for a very long time. As have tracers. The tracers are/were worse for WW1 planes where at a long distance they were bigger than the planes shooting them. But overall looks like it's a good update. I haven't played since the introduction of the newest P-51s and likely won't for some time . Certainly not regularly.
  2. Thats awesome!
  3. Reloaded with fixed audio and commentary

  5. Thanks for your interest in joining JG1! Before our CO contacts you, could you please answer the following questions: What is your Timezone? Do you have a joystick or HOTAS? Do you have TeamSpeak and Discord installed, as well as a working microphone? Do you have VR, TrackIR, or a FreeTrack system for view control? What sims are you currently flying? How did you hear about JG1? Is there anything else that you'd like us to know? Thank you!

    DCS MiG-15bis

    These are all phenomenal, Vonrd!
  7. It was a really good fight. Flown almost perfectly.
  8. Happy to plug the squad. Looking forward to potentially doing this again. Enigma has done a great job with this series.
  9. I got in contact with Enigma and was able to give commentary on a fight for his video series "Ace Files". Very happy to be able to contribute to this awesome video series and hope to do so again sometime.
  10. I was pretty nervous going into this fight and I did nearly lose control towards the end. I was full right stick and rudder at the top of that climb trying to keep the left wing from dipping. Even had some forward stick to keep the wingloading low. The Fw-190 can float with those flaps down. It's not useful for combat outside very particular instances like this one. Saving grace was that the P-38 started to get low on energy as well and instead of continuing up into the vertical he leveled out but didn't extend away.
  11. Already posted this one to Discord. Will be doing a breakdown on this one with external views soon.
  12. Thank you! I haven't posted anything in a while and I actually had the thought while I was in the middle of the bounce that it might be good material to talk about.
  13. Will be posting all future videos under this thread.
  14. Klaiber, your ability to dig up information like this is extraordinary. I never fail to be amazed.
  15. Welcome!
  16. Hey, doing stupid and dangerous things is what makes us human... Imagine the first person to look at a horse and think, I bet I can ride that. There had to be a bet involved. Or women were watching. Or he was just drunk. Or all of the above.
  17. I remember trying that. I blew a few main gear struts trying that.
  18. My wife and I went up to a hill to watch all of the fireworks in the whole valley. Half a dozen other cars up there but got a good spot. Was a good time, although some of the local city fire departments were having a hard time keeping up with the calls.
  19. For all you fellow rebellious colonials, stay safe out there!
  20. I need to download DCS again.
  21. Sticky Fingers is definitely added to the to do list!
  22. Gatlinburg, Chattanooga, Lynchburg (for obvious reasons), and Nashville
  23. Thanks for the well wishes! I got lucky with this one. Everything is coming together for the planning so the stress level is coming down a bit. It should be a fun night. I should be back with some regularity in July after we get back from our honeymoon in TN. I could do a bit more analysis with this fight pertaining to the visual cues I'm looking for and the level of understanding of most virtual pilots vs Aces. One of the reasons I win a lot of fights I probably shouldn't is because most pilots make the basic assumption that aerial fighting is all about getting your nose onto your target so they just turn into their opponent as hard as they can all the time. That is what this P-51 did here. The catch is that IF your opponent is INSIDE your turn radius no matter how hard you pull you will never get a solution. In this case it is important to get more distance between you and your opponent so that they are again OUTSIDE of your turn radius so you can get your nose in front of them. When the P-51 did not take the first opportunity to do this the first time he passed me in the vertical I was convinced he didn't understand this concept. That was confirmed to me the second time he missed his opportunity to extend in the vertical. This difference in understanding is why he wasted all of his energy chasing a shot he was never going to get and I forced an overshoot with near zero effort.
  24. Thank you! The second shot on the first plane was a bit of a toss up. It was a risk because if he had pulled up and away like he should have it would have put me in a bad spot but I saw how hard he was turning and figured he was locked on to me. Calculated risk that paid off. Thanks! Well, I've been a bit silent for a while because I've been helping planning my wedding which will be in two weeks. After that is over and we get back from our honeymoon I should be able to set aside a bit of time regularly to get back in the air with everyone. It is fun to fly solo but I miss flying with everyone. Just hard to plan right now since my schedule is a bit nutty.
