The AC is a C-46 which was acquired from the Marines after sitting at Pensacola for years.   Pending restoration.   This particular aircraft actually flew supply missions over the "hump' to China in WWII.
I never realized a ball gunner in a B17 did not have a down-the-barrel sighting mechanism

Depicting Fw190A-3 Wk. Nr. 313 of Stab III./JG2, flown by Adjutant, Oblt. Arnim Faber who after shooting down a Spitfire flown by by Sergeant Trejtnar of 310 Squadron (Czech) RAF mistakenly landed at RAF Pembrey in South Wales on 23 June 1942.
Includes three versions, two in Luftwaffe markings pre-capture (Luftwaffe markings has one with and one without swastika) and one post capture after being repainted in RAF colors / markings and given the RAF serial number MP499 and a 'P' for prototype. Interesting that they retained the "Fighting Gamecock" emblem of III./JG2.

I enjoy this sim so much more than IL-2.  When the VR finally is released I think that you will as well.  I don't use it, so I get the chance to enjoy this now. 
PS...  I have been using the Odyssey 49" curved monitors for both my driving and flight sim and now the 57" version is out.  I don't know.... just might have to upgrade.

Gaming means that the ASP reticle moves to the target.
Realistic means the ASP reticle stays in the center.
Honestly, everyone should be on realistic, as it's preferable.  But, at the end of the day, it's personal choice.
NOTE: they've reversed the check box.  So... I originally had it checked to "Realistic."  After the update, when I checked the Special tab, it was now checked to "Gaming."
So, I had to uncheck it go back to the settings I originally had.
TLDR - everyone will just need to confirm what they have after this update.

DCS: MiG-21bis
Added clickable polarization filter for the radar screen (controls the radar screen illumination). Hope this works. Very difficult to see the screen sometimes. 

For the MiG-21, Brit and I were glad to see: 
Special options: changed default ASP reticle state from GAMING to REALISTIC (unchecked). For GAMING state, the user needs to check this option. Hopefully, this should eliminate confusion.

There have been 5 Developer Diaries and one mini DD posted on the Combat Pilot Discord channel since I last posted in this thread.
Developer Diary 01 dropped on July 25th, Developer Diary dropped on August 28th, Developer Diary-03 dropped on November 02nd, Developer Diary-04 dropped on November 30th and Developer Diary-05 dropped on December 27rh, 2023. The mini DD's were posted earlier today on January 20, 2024.
                              DD 05 will be the last one for this year.

New Zealand has lost to see but his was a really unexpected highlight.
The WW1 exhibition is exceptional. It's the personal collection of film director Sir Peter Jackson.

I just saw this video I found quite interesting regarding what's upcoming for IL2.
Some interesting things they mentioned:
Karelia map to be added Odessa map to be added Ta-152 plane Yak-3 plane New graphics (I hope performance will keep up) New damage model ... and new trees (finally! 😄)
