Congratulations to the Red Team! With a total of 87 points, and some very hard fought engagements, the Red Team has emerged victorious within the First Phase of FIF XXIII. To celebrate the Red Team's achievement, the FIF XXIIIa campaign ribbon shows the German Cross pattée on a red background. Flanders In Flames continues this Saturday, February 13th, with the Second Phase of FIF XXIII! The Red Team will now fly Entente, while the Blue Team switches to Central. Hope to see you all for more dogfights later this week! And thanks to everyone for making FIF so successful! The scores for Mission 5A are shown below. . . . Yeah, I think there is a concern that if we pause, we'll cut into J5's Bloody April. And we want to finish FIF XXIII by March.

Hi All, Last night, after Wednesdays mission, we had a meeting to discuss the state of the FIF campaign. Specifically, what to do with the low Blue turnout on Wednesday nights. Here is what was decided: Phase A ended last night with a Red Victory. Phase B will start this Saturday (February 13th), with the Blue Team flying Central and the Red Team flying Entente. Temporarily, Wednesday and Friday nights will become a fun-fly night / testing night for those who are interested. This will be open to the greater ROF community. As a result, only Saturday missions will count towards the final score. With the loss of Wednesday as a mission night, only 40 points will be needed for a team to win the Phase. After the end of FIF XXIII, we will then reexamine the teams (as well as Wednesday night) and come up with a more permanent solution for FIF XXIV. Let us know what you think!

Hi Horcior, you're all set for the Blue Team, which will be flying Central in the coming weeks. Make sure to check out the Blue team section of this forum, and get their TS information. Server passwords are passed out prior to mission launch via TeamSpeak. Looking forward to flying with you.

I have CH pedals, a CH fighterstick and the CH pro throttle. I really like them a lot. And they work great together. And at least for me, they're pretty reliable. I've had them since the mid-2000s. And have only recently had to replace the pedals. I'm thinking of buying a new stick right now, only because the CH fighterstick has finally started to get a bit sloppy. When I do buy a new stick, it'll definitely be the fighterstick again. If you had any specific questions, just let me know.

Once FIF XXIII officially ends, we can then redress the teams by having people re-register. It'll mean splitting the current teams up, however. But at least we'll have a strong Wednesday showing back. We're in a bind now only because we're mid-campaign.

There are three main reasons to switch sides in FIF. Firstly, it allows everyone to fly everything, which some people really like. It's a little variety, and a chance to see what it's like on the other side. Plus, it gives you the chance to fly aircraft that you bought but never use. Secondly, at least in North America, there are very few Entente squadrons left within the Rise of Flight community. Some of this is due to FM changes. Some of this is due to attrition. Whatever the cause, it means that if we're going to have a tournament, Central squadrons will have to be on both sides, flying against each other. And the flip keeps this fair and equal. Thirdly, flipping sides eliminates most (but not all) plane-set debates. Everyone will have the chance to fly everything within the tournament. And therefore, it helps eliminate the hint of favoritism.

That's really cool! I will give it to Star Citizen. I looks amazing.

We are continuing to have problems with the objective reporting feature within the FIF missions. The Blue Team had a "Reconnaissance Secondary Objective" which did not show up in the end-of-mission listings. However, it's point did show up in the totals. As a result, they have received full credit for this objective. . . . For the DH4, the cockpit mounted twin Vickers guns and the two overwing mounted Lewis guns are not allowed. But everything else is.

I can't help but love Elite. Especially the direction they're planning on going in. But I'm very excited about Star Citizen too.

Thanks for the heads up!

Outstanding job, Hotlead! I really enjoyed watching it. And was marveling at how you were able to do certain things. Your use of green screen is really excellent. I can tell you put a lot of work into making it look as seamless as possible. Let us know if you ever need us as pilots. -
Haha, Rule 34 is a scientific absolute.

That's awesome!
