  1. It looks awesome Hotlead!! Can't wait to see the short film!
  2. I do as well, and understand their feelings on subjects like this. Honestly, I think that the 2008 Red Baron movie is one of the first modern German-made "war movies" that actually heroicized a German soldier. http://www.dw.com/en/red-baron-film-breaks-german-war-hero-taboos/a-3205499 The fact that they made the movie completely in English betrays the fears of it's production company. I don't think they thought they'd be able to find a viable domestic audience in Germany, and thus looked to the international.
  3. Butzzell put them in the main area. I think these are all of them: http://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/47208-alb-dva-jg1-hotlead/ http://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/47209-pd3-personal-skin-jg1-hotlead/ http://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/47207-alb-d3-jg1-hotlead/ http://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/47206-alb-d-2-late-jg1-hotlead/ http://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/47205-alb-d2-early-jg1-hotlead/

  5. The skins look great guys! Voted.
  6. Hi Willy, Definitely keep us posted! Right now, I'm seriously considering upgrading to Win10 (as you can see that I'm the only person still running Vista).
  7. It might still be there when you login. Not sure.
  8. That's awful news, Trev. RIP.
  9. Hi All, Welcome to the International Flanders In Flames Online War! If you have not already signed up in the past, and are a new pilot to FIF, please post below with the following information: Your In-Game Name: Your Squadron affiliation (with squadron website if possible): Your preferred side (Central, Entente or Don't Care): Your timezone: Your post within this thread is very important, as it lets us know who to give forum access to. After posting within this thread, please be patient. It may take up to 24 hours before your request to join a group has been approved. Please note: the two teams in FIF are not affiliated with either in-game side! After a campaign phase, they will swap sides, allowing everyone to fly all aircraft. If you don't get assigned to your preferred side the first time, you'll eventually be rotated to it (usually within 4 to 6 weeks). Thanks and Salut! JG1_Klaiber
  10. Yup. The pilot in question was captured in 1915, and escaped in 1918, only be be killed in action.
  11. Hi All, This is a question for both guests and JG1 members alike! What operating system are you currently using? And how many people plan on switching to Windows 10? And for those who have Windows 10, does it work reliably with your current flight sims? The reason I'm asking this has to do with compatibility issues. The main games that we're flying right now are Rise of Flight, IL-2: Cliffs of Dover, IL-2: Battle of Stalingrad / Moscow, and DCS World.
  12. No worries. We're on a covert ArmA mission, so we're ripping our patches off.
  13. That's so cool Willy. I had forgotten about that German company.
  14. That's amazing!
  15. Not the best quiz out there, but fun none the less: http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/blink/hang/a-quiz-on-warbirds/article7919604.ece It's from an Indian business newspaper called The Hindu Business Line. I got 7 - I missed #1, #6 and #10. On April 1, 1915, a French pilot shot down an enemy aircraft for the first time through a tractor propeller. He achieved three more wins before being shot down in 1918. Who was he? Most stories about the legendary Battle of Britain centre around the Supermarine Spitfire, one of the most beautiful and effective fighters ever built. But which other British fighter aircraft accounted for over 60 per cent of German casualties during the battle? The B-26 Marauder, a World War II bomber, and the ’60s American fighter F-104 Starfighter both have an unfortunate two-word epithet associated with them. What is that? What does the West Indian fast bowler Michael Holding have in common with the Chance Vought F4U Corsair, one of the most successful fighters of World War II, and the British twin-engine fighter Bristol Beaufighter? The most successful ace in the history of military aviation was a German pilot who was known either as the Blonde Knight or the Black Devil by the Soviet pilots. Name this pilot who had 352 kills in WW II? Group Captain Douglas Bader is credited with 20 aerial victories and was one of the few British pilots to win the Order of the British Empire and the Distinguished Flying Cross. What made his achievements unique? Count Francesco Baracca was Italy’s top ace of the World War I with 34 credited victories. What is his claim to fame in corporate history? The Messerschmitt 163 Komet came into World War II late; though 300 of them were made, it proved ineffective against allied aircraft. What was unique about this fighter plane? Top Gun was one of the first films that made heroes out of fighter pilots. In the film, Tom Cruise and his squadron squared off against Soviet MiG 28 aircraft. What was the crucial mistake in the military action? In the ’50s, Teddy Petter designed a lightweight British fighter that never saw mainstream service. But, in the ’60s, it became a mainstay of the Indian Air Force. Which plane did Petter design? The answers:
  16. That's a good point Lee!
  17. Thanks for helping to make JG1 an awesome squadron to be apart of. Honestly, you guys are the reason I keep doing this.
  18. Hi All, This coming Wednesday (November 25th) will be the first run of the dynamic scenario missions created by Butzzell. These will be run every Wednesday on the JG1 server until FIF starts up again in January. If they're successful, we'll also run them on Saturdays (probably on the J99 server). Hope to see you online!
  19. Klaiber

    Hello

I haven't flown BOS much myself. Just enough to configure my controls, and start the offline missions. I have seen some interesting updates from 777, so maybe it's time to give it another shot.
  20. Very nice sortie! Nice hangar kiss at the end.
  21. Sweet! That Bf 109 looks amazing.
  22. Fixed it for you. If the youtube URL shows up as a blue clickable link, you have to "unlink" using the button. Once it's no longer a link, the forum will then recognize it as a video needing to be shown. The Sisters of Mercy are great. "Temple of Love", "This Corrosion", "Under the Gun" and "More" have always been favorites of mine.
  23. For me - I've been listening to a lot of Stoner Rock and Neo-Psychedelia. They're mostly European bands, with the majority coming from Sweden. I could list a page worth of great hardly known bands that all sound like they're from 1975. But here are two: Spiders: Graveyard: Actually going to see them both in January.
  24. PS: The Bambi Molesters are awesome!
  25. You have to use the URL at the top of the page in order for the video to be recognized. The shortened "youtu.be" links won't work as an embedded video. https://youtu.be/n1zi19yeH8I Hope that helps!
