  1. 92 pages! Yes, has also surprised me . . . At SAS or freeil2modding in the campaign sections but i must admit its currently not a good time for DCG campaigns with DBW! All campaigns i have made are only tested with DCG 3.47, so if you want to play with DCG 3.48 play better the stock campaigns and use the modified DCG files (class.dcg, payloads.dcg and allpayloads.dcg from my Carrier Operations campaign)! If you need help PM me!
  2. Hi, We have many great maps in DBW 4.10 but not many DCG campaigns for it (at least not for public)! This is the main reason why i always make a map and shortly thereafter a campaign for it . . . I can only recommend learn to build DCG campaigns: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/3793-dcg-download-site/?p=20855 Take the class.dcg, payloads.dcg and allpayloads.dcg from my Carrier Operations v1.3: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,26232.0.html and start with your campaign! Happy campaign building! Edit: If you need any help please PM me!
  3. Ja, that was it! It looks like there are many others i have to add from the timetable also to the shipnames.dcg . . . Thanks Paul! @x man No, but its not the problem! The ships class is hardcoded but not the shipnames, they are free given! Trying to say I must add all my free given shipnames with the related class from the timetable also to the shipnames.dcg, no matter which file i currently use! And I still use 4.10 DBW, maybe some classes have changed till then . . .
  4. Paul, i have sent you a mail with the first .mis file, dcgerror file and all entries from the timetable of the coral sea subcampaign for the usn!
  5. It seems when i try to include for both sides carriers via timetable into a .srd route with there squads, DCG ignore it! All carriers are in the right place but not the squads! But sometimes it works, mostly when only one carrier is in that misson or the squad has the same hardcoded ID as the carrier like VB6 to Carrier Enterprise! Also sometimes one carrier is available in the "airfield/carrier" selection of the Squad editor panel when the squad starts from an airfield (off map or regular) after the first mission is created! If carriers are in the .mis file and DCG place them without timetable commands into a .prd route all works fine! The Squads of both sides are on there carriers in the first mission! I personally use mostly .srd routes for carriers because this route is more flexibel and you can put more ships in it, without the risk that they can collide with each other! Thanks for your time! 6. Yes, have the same problem . . . After some testing with final 3.48 no aircraft of both sides (player or Ai squads) start at the beginning of the first mission on a carrier! Although all carriers are in the right place (.prd or .srd) in the .mis file of the first created mission, they not appear in the Squad editor panel of DCG under "airfield/carriers" as a selection! Also the timetable "movesquad" command has no effect at least in my campaign (DBW modded 4.10m)! I must admit i use 3.48 final the first time (still have 3.47, I mail you a link to the .exe for comparison)! Short question, what has the carscolumn.dcg file for a task?
  7. This behavior appears sometimes also in DBW (modded 4.10m)! If you make a short mission with 4 planes in FMB which take off and the first waypoint (after take off point) lay straight ahead of the runway direction, nothing happends! But if the first waypoint lay abeam (tested 90 degree) of the runway direction almost always the second plane shows this behavior! So i personally thing it has only indirectly to do with DCG more with the AI! Would be interesting to know if this happened also in unmodded versions . . .
  8. An older but still very informative tutorial about DCG and how it works created by Tailspin: http://www.mediafire.com/download/huplrffmqz0ooxt/dcg_campaign_info_v321.zip How to make a 3rd party campaign from scratch: in english (PDF) http://www.mediafire.com/download/lqwwpj491bp33l4/How+to+make+a+3rd+party+DCG+campaign+from+scratch.zip in german (PDF) http://www.mediafire.com/download/fzq7augnx87s317/Wie+man+eine+externe+DCG+Kampagne+erstellt.zip
  9. Hi X_Man! Because you have with a _camp position a 100% spawn probability for reinforcements! With ships it may can take some missions and you have only a 50% chance that something will spawn! So I have used the first landing via timetable with ships and ground forces (then you have also a 100% chance that all ground vehicles will unload the ships at the beachhead position) and later the _camp positions to have a better supply rate!
  10. Hi Paul! Since you have sent your site recently to the earned retirement, the documentaries about DCG by various authors are no longer available! I personally had still Tailspins Tutorial on my PC and have made it available for public via mediafire at SAS! Do you have the others (except my tutorials) still on your PC? If so, I'd like to upload them also to mediafire and make them available for the public! Thanks! (Have tried to PM you but the message was "You can not recieve any other messages!)
  11. Has nothing to do with DCG and its an old annoying thing in il-2! Look in the samples/speech/"service"/actors folders after this sound files and take them out, should work! But before make a safe copy of that folders!
  12. When captured
  13. Hi Paul! I personally would like to see your version of a campaign for this map, and I think many other DCG users too! And as you said, my version is a bit older (4.11m), so here we go . . .
  14. I have the impression that this AI behavior of the escorts only occurs when the escort and bomber flights are starts from the same airfield/carrier! If the escort starts from a further away airfield and must first fly to the starting bombers, the subsequent behavior does not occur! I am often noticed in DBW 1.71, that the AI behaves strangely when waypoints are too close together like ground attack points for ship attacks! Also in this case the AI fly over the target and back home!
  15. Many thanks for the new updates, Lo!
  16. Dont know if you have already solve the problem . . . DCG placed the ships properly! I have load your routes in FMB and I think you've mixed up the names of your Sea locations!
  17. Maybe, but i believe the ships will drive the whole route only one time, then they will removed from the campaign! Better try to make a route from a new "Cagliari" .rds location and connect it with Cagliari_Airfield! Then write the new location "Cagliari" into the allcampaigns and grandcampaigns.dcg under the italy43 entries (new location entry), because "Cagliari" is for party red, the attacker! Then test again, could work!
  18. Ah, my mistake! 50 to 50 is the probability if units will load/unload ships! The probability of spawning ships is 100%, sorry! When you have a sea location named "Cagliari_Harbor" then you must have also a .rds location naming "Cagliari"! The same also with "Palermo_Harbor"! Its important because otherwise DCG will ignore your harbor location! This could be the reason . . . I can only recommend to make the little campaign in my tutorial! There I was trying to explain everything!
  19. No, only possble to change it in the "Aircraft class setting" panel! But fighters get during a campaign also ground attack missions when a payload (bombs/rockets) is active for the related aircraft! In the "data/timetable.dcg" file of your DCG folder under [Examples] are all commands listed!
  20. Yes, its random! I think its 50 to 50 if ships will spawn! Big ships like CVs,BBs and CAs remain sunk, no matter if the option "ships remain sunk" is active or not! This is only valid for DDs or cargo ships like "Tramps", when the option is set to "off"!
  21. Hi, Should be possible! Try to add a file naming "italy.srd" with your new routes into the "Data" folder of DCG! I have try to explain how to create new ship routes here: http://www.lowengrin.com/download.php?view.139 Hope it helps!
  22. I never used it but try to add new columns for the allied for your current campaign! Go to "Ground Objects Editor" panel of DCG and select under "column" the option "Add new column", available at the end of the list of all the columns! With more allied forces you should capture Buna!
  23. I must admit I never played the standard campaigns intensively! After the entries in the grandcampaign stops the USAAF campaign in NewGuinea42! Should finally end when Buna is captured by the allied! I have also the impression that some settings for the standard campaigns are hard coded in DCG! Because some (.mis,.rds,.rls) files like the Italy subcampaign have different names . . . Maybe Paul can say more about it!
  24. Palau comes after the Mariannas (after the grandcampaign.dcg entrys, Guadal43/Tarawa/Mariannas/Palau/ . . .) All ground columns should be displayed in the "Ground objects editor" panel of DCG! Of course when they included in the current subcampaign! Set the related vehicle column back to a "blank" location! For static objects set the option "Active" to "No"! But dont forget, all these changes are active from the next created mission!
  25. Hi, This subcampaign should switch to the next (Tarawa), when the position "Kokumbono" (endcampaign.dcg) is captured by the red fraction! Dynamic Campaigns are sometimes a tricky thing! When its almost impossible, deactivate some enemy ground forces in the DCG "Ground Objects Editor" panel!
