Thanks all! It was a lot of fun, though frustrating well, more like challenging. -

All those posthumous awards -
See @Klaiber!

Secret keeper!

Mind you, this was a well earned success after several not-so-successful sorties

Meeting for (and streaming) some MiG-21 online combat with Klaiber in preparation for this Saturday's tourney. This will be "advanced" air to air tactics against technologically superior fighters and weapon systems. However, we'll be in TS and my server will be up for those that wish to practice in peace or have questions.

I honesty thought the Kuban navigation was to take place in the 30 minutes prior to the scheduled practice (9:30pm Eastern) and let the posting stand. As pilots filtered in for practice, it would sort itself out.

Just to make sure my wingman hear my screams as I absorb their bullets/flak/missiles.

In its current configuration: The steering wheel is off and on the side, only mounted for car sessions and I sit at a 90° angle to the right.

Good luck, today, gents. Dealing with household issues this morning and won’t be on.

I'm only 50% for this Saturday but I'll fly any airplane that I've never been in

I use Razer's Cortex, it starts when I fire up a game. VR4DCS.com has quite a few good tricks. Although he's focused on the Reverb, a lot of the tips work for SteamVR, in general.

I think flight sims as a whole are filled with a lot of BS, DCS isn't immune, and their forums rules are pretty strict. However, I haven't been on the IL-2 boards a lot since Battle of Moscow. DCS allows several 3rd party companies to provide additional aircraft. These companies are held to a pretty high standard but the core ED built ones seem to have an even higher quality. Some are lower cost at $15 for non-clickable cockpit, basic planes to $30-40 for unarmed aerobatic planes and $50-$80 for the (almost)full system, clickable cockpit, combat aircraft.
-
None, two completely separate companies. Although, there is a bit of crossover for the abandoned DCS: 1944 development and Oleg Maddox, I believe. Eagle Dynamics (ED), the developer of DCS World, changed their game engine a few years ago and all aircraft that were already purchased, were available on the new engine. It was a very slow transition from one to another, and we had the ability to actually use both engines, just on different maps, the Caucasus (old) and Nevada (new). Once they had everything ironed out in the new engine, they redid the map for the Caucasus and merged everything into one. I didn't have to buy a new version of any of the aircraft I had, even the A-10C or Ka-50 (the first two!) My intent was to point out that I didn't want to buy Flying Circus because I bought ALL of the RoF airplanes, maps, and mods. With DCS, I haven't had to buy anything again and the only plane I can't fly is the Hawk because the 3rd party company that made it, quit supporting it through updates. One exception: the failed DCS: 1944 kickstarter promised planes had to be purchased. They awarded 2 but the others had to be bought, again. This was not ED's fault, that was all Oleg and my purchases were made in Kickstarter, not through ED.

Flying DCS on the red side for DDCS PG server. Will be flying a Harrier and trying to do CAS. Can work with anyone as a FAC-A. Will be on the DDCS Discord server, not TS.

Black September two victories in a Dr.I
Britchot replied to Britchot's topic in JG1 Videos & Screen Caps
VR is pretty much the only way I fly, nowadays. The 1 to 1 head tracking and being “surrounded” by the cockpit make it all too immersive. -
A new engine with a transition from purchased assets, like DCS World did, would be okay with me. If it’s the whole RoF->FC repay, I would certainly balk at that additional fee.

Yeah... I thought I had a good landing going but it seemed to float forever. -
“...your friends will just get in the way.” Is such a cat-minded thing to say. This dev is the quintessential male cat-lady.

I’d play it if it had MP support. Reminds me of that goat simulator, without the crazy physics.

As much as I try to shake that guy, he keeps showing up wherever I go! Honestly, though, VR WWI will get him online, just as it did with me.
-
It would be hard to know if someone died if you weren’t in game or in comms, though.

Thank you for highlighting this, Heinrich. Ashamedly, I am guilty of this oversight during my first death penalty. I kept looking at the scoreboard in game that showed 22-23 per side, assuming we didn't hit the cap.
