Awesome that you decided to take the plunge! Klaiber will answer as soon as he can, and you'll be required to agree to do KP duty with no flying for the first 5 years....you know, just the standard stuff. S!

Doesn't look quite evil enough for me. I was hoping for something more like this: Sarcasm. Yes, what they drew looks like they're trying to make it look excessively evil, like that's what we want to emulate. Not me.

It was a reply to Smolders' question It means that the subject in question is far more complicated than the person asking it realizes, and would take years of training to actually accomplish....basically exactly what Klaiber said Not meant to be derogatory in any way From past communications, I was under the impression that you're a professional graphics designer and/or cartoonist

Have to explain, 2 or 3 times during the evening, I somehow got switched into another TS channel without my knowing it, so apologies if anybody thought I was being anti-social. I think there was some kind of key conflict between TS and the game that caused the hotkey setup that I had set for FiF to actuate without my knowledge. Today I eliminated all of those hotkeys, so that hopefully that problem will disappear.

To think he has 3 of them. Think Jay gets any special treatment in getting what he needs/wants? The engines in the Lanc seemed to start right up, easier than his. Maybe they were warmed up already. Wonder what it costs to get a ride in that Lanc up in Toronto. The only one in the world you could get a ride in. Probably not possible to get a Daimler-Benz engine anymore? That would be cool to see, and compare side by side.

Great fight against Frommherz! Classic matchup, in which you used the climb and strengths of the N28, and the clouds to best advantage....without any of which, I doubt you'd have had a chance. IMHO, an instructional video on how to use the N28. You did blow it on the collision though I was expecting the Coup de gras on that pass. Oh well, what are we to expect....perfection? Been there, done that oh so many times Still the best N28 work I've seen by far! PS, put a piece of tape over that mic mute switch, LOL -
Wow, Dark Horse and company....I don't usually comment on these threads....but to see J2_Adam, one of our community....I gotta say I'm totally impressed. There is nothing I hold in higher regard, than the ability to make sweet music....which is, IMHO, one of the few saving graces of our species. S! Adam and Dark Horse!

You learned something......best possible outcome

Sounds like all of the standard RoF game folders might just be inside an additional folder called "Steam".
-
No worries....we can certainly provide instructions, if it's possible to do. We'll need to hear from somebody with a Steam installation to know if it's possible. In the mean time, here is a video that I made earlier. It pertains to Response Curves in RoF, but it does show the basics of how to use the File Explorer in Windows to access RoF files. This is something we could talk you through on TeamSpeak. The area we would be interested in is inside the "data" folder, but in a different folder (subdirectory) than the one that is shown in the video: Again, not expecting you to understand all of this; just letting you know there are things we might be able to do. S!

How does Steam work....do they end up with a game installation with normal file structure on their PC? I was thinking why not just zip up my skins folder and share it on a file hosting site. Possible?

Re-reading "No Parachute" by Arthur Gould Lee, and it really is outstanding because it is actual letters he wrote at the time, with added paragraphs here and there that explain things and link them together, as well as including private diary entries that never could have gotten past the censors. He also wrote "Open Cockpit", which encompassed a wider period of time in his WWI experiences. I have that also, and I think it's best to read the above first, then this book second. Both are excellent points of view from a time in which Entente planes were mostly considered inferior (like Pup vs. Alb D.III). However, if you look at the outcomes, you wonder if the Germans had complete agreement with the opinions contained therein. It does give great insight into how pilots from one side only saw things; and that does lead to greater understanding how squadrons in our sims that only fly one side also perceive things. Things are often a lot more equal than they seem on the surface; and books such as these, together with my own experiences, have made me understand the big picture a lot better.

Sorry I didn't get together with you guys last night. I kind of need a vacation from my vacation, so I played it lazy. Driving from the top of the US to the bottom and back on I-75 is just not as fun as you might think . I've developed a special hatred for the Dayton-Cincinnati area, the Atlanta-Macon area, and the Tampa-Sarasota area. I must have been held up by at least 15 accidents in those areas during the entire trip. Add to that bad driving weather at times, and a fear of driving on high places south of Kentucky / north of Knoxville, and it just doesn't seem like anything I'm ever going to enjoy. I hope to have a better inclination to fly again soon....shoot me a text if you want help. S!

Might as well start with the classics 😉 Sagittarius Rising by Cecil Lewis

Great that somebody took the time to make such a series. Terrible, terrible inaccuracies though. Fokker D.II the first fighter plane to have synchronized gun? Albatros D.II's with V-struts? Lanoe Hawker shot down in one quick burst, no dogfight? Fonck's "position of dominance" attack from below and behind? SPADs that climb non-stop straight up while rolling, up to and past their target? They must have read books far different than the ones I've read. Sort of makes you sure they must have known what they were perpetrating....question is, why? Entertaining, none the less.

That second to last mission....the first one we couldn't hear your voice in....assault class was it? Holy $%&! Your team won by ONE SINGLE POINT....one point in 1000! Incredible! Wish we could have heard your voice explanation for the whole thing. Thanks! -

Well, you sure know your keyboard commands good Is the MMP always 15 vs. 15? What about the squads....is it three at 5 each, or is it variable? Are you on comms with just your own squad? And what is the "revive" thing? You get to bring a dead person back to life if you're a medic? If so, does that still count as a death for your stats....points for the other team? Sorry about all of the questions, from a person who'll never play it; but it's sort of like watching a sports game without knowing the rules -

Was looking for your latest 3 ring circus video. Looks like you skipped it in lieu of BF1, so I watched that. Very entertaining! Your squad was doing great until you started losing members. That second to last mission was a real nail biter! That last mission was too hard to watch, though. Seems like in BF1, it's very hard to achieve a kill/death ratio better than 1:1 ! Congrats on a great job by your family/squad members....some of which don't fly RoF....really great teamwork! Saw a lot of the airplane action in at least one of the missions. Crazy airplane maneuvering and ability to shoot through your own airframe? Wondering if that's a server realism setting, or it's always like that. It would take getting used to! Do you guys use a standard video game controller? It kind of looked like accuracy was hard to achieve. A lot of those guys it looked like you hit, if not killed; but they got credit for killing you instead. Wondering how that works. Very fast and frenetic action. Very impressive, I could never do it!!! -
Very impressive that your engagement took place at 5,000 m ! Good to see some realism taking place in MMP. I think US103 gets a lot of credit for that. It's good to see them flying as an organized unit that provides a skilled opposing force. S! to Hunter for bringing that to these sessions.

I totally appreciate how reliable you guys are, and what a great effort you guys make for our team. Congrats on a job well done. S!
