    Gotha skins

I'm late to the party here, but yes, I'd like to have a skin! Maybe the night lozenge pattern, with my usual Maus emblem and black & yellow bits on wing & tail? S! Maus
  2. Sorry I missed it! I've been pretty busy the last week or so, and next Saturday I may not be able to fly either, or if I am, I'll probably arrive late. Apologies! S! Maus

  7. Since I clicked on that ad for the socks a while ago, Facebook has of course been showing me similar things like this ... https://iloveahangar.com/
  8. For all your warbird-inspired hosiery needs ... https://heeltread.com/collections/war-machines (I suspect they'll get inundated with orders in the weeks leading up to Father's Day )
  9. Not aviation-related, but possibly of interest ... Today, the anniversary of the Dieppe raid, I'm reading the new edition of David O'Keefe's 'One Day in August', which came out last year. It previously came out in 2013, along with a TV documentary, but even in the few years since then, more documents have come to light, hence a second edition with more evidence (and a slightly different subtitle than the first edition): https://iconbooks.com/ib-title/one-day-in-august/ It's a wide-ranging book combining solid historical argument (backed up exhaustively by evidence from files declassified since 1995, when O'Keefe began his research) with a gripping narrative. Highly recommended!
  10. Congratulations to all! Very well deserved S! Maus
  11. ... in 1932, Amelia Earhart took off from Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, beginning the world's first solo transatlantic flight by a woman; she landed in Northern Ireland thirteen and a half hours later. This archival image from our provincial museum, The Rooms, shows her in front of the Cochrane Hotel in St John's (just a few blocks from my house -- though, to be fair, anywhere in downtown St John's fits that description!) with Bernt Balchen (left), a navigator and engineer hired by Earhart as a technical advisor, and Lewis L'Esperance, a representative of the Shell Oil Company.
