  1. Welcome to the airfield of Jagdgeschwader 1! JG1 a serious-minded online cyber squadron. We are an international group with a solid North American and European contingent. JG1 has a long and distinguished history online and can trace its origins to March 1992 and Red Baron Online. Currently JG1 is focused on the following flight simulation games: Flying Circus and Rise of Flight (as Jagdgeschwader Nr. I "Richthofen", which includes Jasta 11, Jasta 10, Jasta 6 and Jasta 4) IL-2: Great Battles and IL-2: Cliffs of Dover (as Jadgeschwader 1 "Oesau", which includes I./JG 1, II./JG 1 and III./JG 1) DCS World (as Jagdfliegergeschwader 1 "Fritz Schmenkel") If you are interested in joining JG1, please login to our forums, and start a new thread within the JG1 Recruitment section. Your new thread should have the following information: What is your Timezone? Do you have a joystick or HOTAS? Do you have TeamSpeak and Discord installed, as well as a working microphone? Do you have VR, TrackIR, or a FreeTrack system for view control? What sims are you currently flying? How did you hear about JG1? Is there anything else that you'd like us to know? Thanks in advance for the interest! Looking forward to talking with you soon.
  2. Crossing my fingers for you.
  3. Hi Kojack, The sims have changed, but we are the same JG1 from Red Baron II. Moritz retired in the early 2000s, as did Kroll and Wolfgang. vonLeep came back active for a while, before eventually retiring circa 2007. However, there are still a few of the old guard around. Butzzell, Wurger and Lowengrin are still active in the community. And RivRat and Degelow float through every once in a while. JG1 is actually 24 this year! Old enough to still get in trouble, but perhaps wise enough to regret it the next morning. If you fly Rise of Flight, IL-2: Cliffs of Dover, IL-2: Battle of Stalingrad, or DCS World, you should join us online sometime. You're more than welcome. Let me know, and I'll send you our TS information.
  4. Hi Jocassee, You're all set for the Red Team. Make sure to check out the Red Team area when you log in again. The TS information should be there. Let me know if you have any problems. Welcome!
  5. Yup, you're already signed up for the Blue Team. Welcome back!
  6. Hi Wynand, You're all set for the Blue Team. Make sure to check the Blue section for the TeamSpeak information used during the event. More information regarding the tests and dry-runs should be posted soon. Welcome!

  11. Great pictures Somnus! I would love to check out a MiG-21 cockpit, now that I'm familiar with the one in DCS. I've seen them before in the past, but that was way before I knew what I was looking at. Love the picture of the Me 262 and the MiG-15's machine-guns and cannon! I see what you mean about Snoopy. If you're going to have him in the cockpit, at least get a better stuffed animal.

  16. Hi All, Welcome to the International Flanders In Flames Online War! If you have not already signed up in the past, and are a new pilot to FIF, please post below with the following information: Your In-Game Name: Your Squadron affiliation (with squadron website if possible): Your preferred side (Central, Entente or Don't Care): Your timezone: Your post within this thread is very important, as it lets us know who to give forum access to. After posting within this thread, please be patient. It may take up to 24 hours before your request to join a group has been approved. Please note: the two teams in FIF are not affiliated with either in-game side! After a campaign phase, they will swap sides, allowing everyone to fly all aircraft. If you don't get assigned to your preferred side the first time, you'll eventually be rotated to it (usually within 4 to 6 weeks). Thanks and Salut! JG1_Klaiber

  19. I'm curious what other people will say. But for me: The rest of the Albatrii (the Albatros D.III and Albatros D.II) are always a good choices. They're used on servers a lot. And in tournaments. Another two German aircraft to consider are the Pfalzes. The Pflaz D.III isn't the best thing out there, but it's beautiful, a lot of fun to fly, and very forgiving. And the Pfalz D.XII is an excellent high altitude energy fighter. It has a very strong wing, and is an excellent diver. And if you'd like to bomb, you can't go wrong with the DFW C.V. We also use the Halberstadt CL.II a lot as well. I'm not as good with Entente aircraft, but I'd recommend checking out the Camel, the Nieuport 17.C1, and the Hanriot HD.1. And their two seaters are excellent. Not sure if that helps at all.
  20. This sounds like a lot of fun. I'll try and make it.
  21. Hi Walrus, Thanks for posting! I'll drop you an email later tonight. Talk more then.
  22. Wow is right! Amazing pictures, Lee! So glad you got the chance to see the Galápagos Islands. It sounds like a wonderful trip.
  23. Sorry to hear that your Thrustmaster broke, vW! Hope you're able to fix it soon.
  24. You're very welcome.
  25. I think that sounds great Butzzell! Would love to give it a shot.
