  1. Hi Black Falcon, Sorry for the delayed response to your post. I was away for the weekend, and am only now catching up on the boards. As Vonrd and Hotlead mentioned, it would be great if you could fill out the recruitment questions found here: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/2526-welcome-to-jg1/ If you didn't want to post them on the forums, feel free to PM them to me. Once I have them, I'll then drop you and email and start the whole process going. Thanks in advance!
  2. So, how are you liking the OpenBeta?
  3. Here are the extant records regarding the early FIF campaigns, flown between 1999 to March 2005: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lyiimg7mnwxcwbq/AAB41X1juAMpuVHq_UWgX_95a?dl=0 All of these events were run using Red Baron 3D, and were highly modified by the talents of the Society of WWI Sim Artisans (SWWISA). Should anyone have any more information about these early campaigns, please let me know.
  4. The JG1 forums have been known to experience performance dips every once in a while. Usually, it snaps back after a few minutes. Things are fine for me right now, however. It's possible it could be localized to a specific region. The JG1 TS is on a different server, so should be unaffected.
  5. 217 friends might do it... haha
  6. By itself, TS shouldn't affect FPS at all. Which is why we said to dump Overwolf and all other TS-based overlays. They're the biggest culprits, 9 times out of 10. Disabling Steam's overlay may also help boost your FPS. But I think it depends on the size of your friends list. Honestly, it still sounds like there is some kind of conflict happening. Either that, or something is acting as a resource hog and TS is just the last stone that causes the crash. Have you gone into msconfig and paired back your Startup programs (so that not everything is running when your PC turns on).

  8. Thanks Chunko! They look great.
  9. Btw: Kempf, I love your new sig!
  10. It was a tie - 8 to 8.
  11. Ah, I see what you mean.
  12. II./JG1 has it's own awards. http://forum.jg1.org/topic/2311-iijg-1-oesau-atag-campaign/ But those awards need an active tournament for them to be earned. Storm of War doesn't count, because it's not a dead-is-dead event. But Ghost Skies will when it restarts.
  13. For anyone who's ever been curious about what exactly a "German Army Report" is supposed to be, it's basically our fictionalized "First World War" version of a Wehrmachtbericht. What's a Wehrmachtbericht? During the Second World War, the German military would send out daily radio reports called Wehrmachtberichte. And these would inform the public about the state of fighting on all fronts. Basically, it's a form of propaganda. So, to have your unit, or your personal name, mentioned in one of these radio reports was considered a high honor. Hence the merit award. Our WW1 "German Army Report" also takes some inspiration from the British MiDs (mentioned in dispatches), which is where your name would be published, and you would receive a small certificate for your gallant or meritorious action. Hence, the image above.
  14. Haha, that's funny.
  15. Great video Hotlead! Wish I could have been there.
  16. Looks great Hardy! Can't wait to try a few of those missions!
  17. Hi von Maston, I'll drop you an email in a few. Great to meet you!

  19. What I heard... "The Red Team gets F-16s!" What they meant... "The Red Team gets S-16s!"
  20. Hi Zerfass, that's too bad. But it sounds like you had an amazing trip to the Imperial War Museum, and to Wittmund.
  21. Sure, I'll PM you on this board.
  22. Hi Rifleman, Thanks for checking us out. I'll drop you an email later tonight. Talk more soon!
  23. Haha. I love it because it's art deco, yet flyable. It reminds me of something out of a 1930s Flash Gordon serial. I do wonder about landing, though. Must be impossible to see where you're going before the nose comes down.
  24. It is a thing of beauty though.
