  1. These are coming out great, Kempf!
  2. Right now, we're looking at the second week of September. But things could move around. Should be fun!
  3. Don't you have Rise of Flight: United through Steam? If you're trying to get the regular version of Rise of Flight through 777, you just download it from here: http://riseofflight.com/download/ If your purchases from the Rise of Flight store went through (which it sounds like they did, because they charged you), then you're fine. The aircraft aren't downloaded. They are tied to your account. If you're account has them, then you have them. When you login, they unlock.
  4. There are a few people in the squadron who are really good at skinning. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone to give you a hand. However, if you're interested in trying it yourself, Photoshop CS2 is currently free to download: http://www.redmondpie.com/download-adobe-photoshop-cs2-for-free-legally-while-you-still-can/
  5. It's still up in the air. But the tournament coordinators are meeting next week to discuss the plane-set. So this should be resolved by the 26th.
  6. It came out great, Kempf!
  7. Hi Hotlead, It's still being decided. But expect earlier aircraft. This should be decided by next week. This is still being decided too. But more than likely, the sides will switch.
  8. Nice skin! Voted.
  9. S! All, The following JG I pilots are being recognized for their actions before and during Session 5A of Flanders In Flames XXIb (which took place on the 12 August 2015). Congratulations! . . . Bavarian Merit 4th Class Hptm. Heinrich Maushake, Jasta 10 (posthumously, mission #5A, 12 August 2015), for bravery and merit, beyond the call of duty ["double-ace" streak: 12 air kills, 1 ground kills and 6 WIA, over 21 sorties].
  10. There will be a celebratory dogfight this Saturday, instead of the normally scheduled mission. http://forum.jg1.org/topic/3173-fifxxi-dogfight-event-saturday-15-august/ Should be a lot of fun!
  11. Hi All, FIFXXIb has ended with a Blue Team victory! Congratulations guys! To celebrate, we're going to have a dogfight event this Saturday (15 August 2015). This will be in place of the normal mission night. The dogfight event will take place on a standard FIF map, complete with two-seater objectives. Just like always, it will be hosted on the J99 Server, starting at 6PM GMT / 2PM EDT. Everything will be just like a normal FIF mission. However, there will be no death and capture penalties, and it will be completely for fun. Come help us celebrate an awesome FIF campaign! Hope to see you there! ~Salut!~ -Klaiber
  12. Congratulations to the Blue Team! With a total of 67 points, and some very hard fought engagements, the Blue Team has emerged victorious within the Second Phase of FIF XXI. To celebrate the Blue Team's achievement, the FIFXXIb campaign ribbon shows the German Cross pattée on a blue background. Flanders In Flames will soon return with the 22nd version of the tournament! Details will be posted in the coming weeks, both on the JG1 boards and on the Rise of Flight forums. Hope to see you all back in the skies over Flanders! And thanks for making FIF so successful! 13. That's what I was thinking. A "farewell to FIFXXIb" mission.
  14. I think this sounds like a good idea. I've been wondering about Saturday, and our European pilots.
  15. It definitely was a lot of fun!
  16. Glad to help!
  17. You may want to check out the forums over at The Aerodrome: http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/ There are some very knowledgeable people there, who may have already done a lot of this research. Generally, I believe Jastas recorded the basic descriptions of their pilot's aircraft. This was to aid in identification, both in the air and if the aircraft was shot down. Some of these records survive. And these often help researchers identify colors. But, the marking descriptions are often very bare, and they leave a lot to the imagination. It looks like the band on the Alb could be black, as it seems to react to the light in the same way as the Cross Pattee on the fuselage. I'll do some research and see if I can find out more information for you.
  18. I definitely remember the Royal Guardsmen, though they're slightly before my time. Was always a fan of Snoopy's Christmas:

  24. I saw that! I definitely want to eventually make a trip to the Military Aviation Museum. The collection looks amazing!
  25. Lee, in the second shot, taken from the starboard side: Is that Bob Russell's Fw 190A-8? Looking at it in the background, I was struck by how bizarre the cowling looked. Almost like a La-5. And then I found this article, which said that "Russell fitted it with the four bladed propeller, hub, engine and modified cowling from a Tupolev TU-2 bomber." http://www.warbirdsnews.com/warbirds-news/yagen-acquires-fw-190.html If that is the "Russell" Focke-Wulf, are there any plans to return it to it's original specifications?
