Haha, I was doing the same Klaiber. I'd see a glint off in the distance and perk up immediately. Brit, no idea. It was some smaller passenger liner, at cruise altitude, and it blew past us to the right. It really was quite spectacular, I've never passed THAT. Close to another plane before. There was another plane, co-alt, at our 5 and slightly distant. I watched it for a while as it slowly drifted away and I thought to myself, "He must be flying a different radial."

So something happened this weekend and I'm not sure if it's a good thing, or if it's rather sad. I flew to Atlanta over the weekend, and on the flight down I looked up from my book and out the window -just in time- to see another plane pass by us so close I could see the people in its windows and hear its engines, even over ours. My knee-jerk reaction/thought was "Turn hard and pull on his six!" Besides being grateful that someone's violation of FAA regulations didn't get us all killed, I don't know if I'm proud of my reflexes, or saddened from what must mean I've been flying the MiG too much lately...

Hopefully Steam will do a good sale on the 109 sometime when I have money. I'm hoping for it to get down to 50%! Of course, that might get put on hold when the -15 comes out...

I want to play with you guys sometime. I've got a bunch of small squad missions downloaded from when I was playing with just Oskar. The vast majority I've not even played yet.

Is it all combat focused? That's what the trailer looks like.

Taking off is indeed terrifying. Last night, finally after about 30 tries, I was able to take off for the first time, and then 4 times in a row total. I think I was keeping the tail down too long, so when I caught speed, it lifted me up with a high AoA and I was stalling.

Yeah, I'd really like the Bf 109, but it didn't go on sale much. I assume it's one of the newest planes. It's something to look forward to. I took the 21 out for a spin earlier. It's been a looooooooooooong time since I've flown a jet in a sim so it's going to take some getting used to.

Okay. Got the MiG-21. I've got to stop, haha! I can justify it though, right? I've spent about $60 (plus another $30 in steam gift cards) so really, I've just spent as much for a typical AAA new release game, right? >_<

My son right now has decided that he's in love with Sonic the Hedgehog. I for one am completely for that, but my wife for some reason has something against a 3 year old sitting and playing video games. One day he'll be flying too! Never too young, right?!

Im thinking about getting my first HOTAS setup, but I don't have too much to spend. What is everyone's opinion on the X52 or X55? Any other suggestions for about the same price range?

I've got the Flaming Cliffs 3, UH-1H, F-86, and Fw 190 modules and until Jan 16 before classes start again! If anyone wants to help learn to fly things, I'd be interested. The Steam sale was over for me an hour after it started today, haha.

It makes me sad, because I"m pretty sure I won't be able to run it.
