Don't mind me, I'm just admiring the most adorable Super Sonic jet ever. It has such a cute snoot!
-
I've never played a civilian flight simulator before but I heard grumblings they might expand the new MFS with Some Military bases and Military aircraft at some point? IF true I think it would be really fun to fly out of my Local Air Guard and USAF bases, and MSP in some jets since I live close to Minneapolis.
-
I love, love LOVE LOVE AV Web! He reminds me of my ex USAF Cargo pilot Godfather Pete. He's got an amazingly dry sense of humor while he talks about the general aviation topics. Check him out!!!

Thought this was cool even if it was explained at a beginner level:

On the Airwaves. Radio waves. Come on, some of us are young but we still love Military aviation history so we at least know that. At least I think that's what "Going on air" and "Going off air" means?

Watching these videos really makes me wish I could fly a Jet one day. Even a light fighter like a MiG-21/G.91/F-5 would probably just about make me poop myself.
-
Did I mention I love watching modern Jets take off solely on power alone? Lmfao. look at this ***disgusting*** AOA on carrier based Mig 29's! Get off my planet this technology seems alien!
-
Yeah they're genuinely fantastic. I really love learning about the trade/economic agreements between various nations that lead to certain countries ending up with certain arms. It puts WWI into a fantastic perspective.

Nothing like some C&Rsenal! 2 Hour long History lectures disguised as firearms content!

Updating myself now - see you guys later tonight for practice.

Salutations! Thank you very much for sharing, this all looks like good stuff! Will have to see how this goes at some point when I fly Great Battles next.
-
Listening to some of the old cats today . . .
-
Salutations squadron! This is what I managed to get from when we rolled all 8 of the squadron pilots in a line a week or two ago on Combat Box! Sorry if my view isn't too spectacular!

I've been using external hubs for literally years with no issues until the two ports on one of mine failed just now. Works great, honestly. Edit: make sure you get hubs that are comparable with the USB types you use most commonly, though. USB 3.0 for most modern controllers and peripherals etc. You can plug 2.0 or lower into 3.0 ports but not the other way around, IIRC.

Not enough to leave both the flight sim and racing sim controls hooked up at all times, which is what I normally like to do so I don't have to fuss switching between the two. But I'm only a single port short so it's not that bad.
-
Coincidentally I just found out today the issue I had with my TrackIR not functioning during the September 8th Evening practice flyout was because two of the Powered-USB 3.0 ports on my Hub for the flight/racing sim have stopped working. One of which had my Button box for car controls and the other which had my TrackIR plugged in previously. That's seriously weird.
-
That's probably for the best considering how basic my flying skills are!
-
Great! Thanks guys! I'm going to get it downloaded and installed today so hopefully I can fly it out on Thursday. Sorry about my recent inactivity - have been getting swamped in the re-set time between student Cohorts at work with video production tasks etc. I will be on tonight, though, for certain!
-
Awesome, thank you so much!

Affirm. I'll get the free version for tonight's practice and in the meantime pinch some pennies for the full version. Will be we switching to practicing on ROF due to running events in it, or will Tuesday's still be in Flying Circuits or Great Battles?
-
Would I be effective to the squadron with the Free/Trial version that only has those two aircraft? Or do we have particular ones you'd recommend I obtain so that I can be both cost-effective and combat-effective?
-
IS RoF still available to run on Windows 10 PC's w/ Track IR? I have never used the simulator myself before as I only began flying in the Great Battles series.

This is a tale as old as time and always goes like so . . . 1: Loud center for industry get built in the 1940's-1960's (Airfield, Race Track, Railway Yard, Port) 2: Center for industry creates economic boom in local area - businesses move within a 5-20 mile radius of Loud place 3: Industry creates need for housing. Housing starts on city limits built around supporting business 4: By the 80's/90's/, housing firms out of space to put stuff. 5: Real estate agents start lying to home buyers through omission by not mentioning loud industrial center 2-5 miles away from their home. 6: Home owners start complaining until "Loud place bad" gets shut down 7: Real estate cashes in on the boom and ups everybody's property values and cash in a huge profit 8: Home owners now can't afford their living place without the industry to supply jobs. People stop moving in causing a bust. 9: Rinse and repeat until somebody learns better.

That's awesome, haha! I love holding onto the cage in my cars when I'm sitting on the grid. Makes me feel so safe compared to when they're moving.

It's a 1993 Escort GT w/ the 1.8 that has mechanical injection. It's back from when Ford still majority owned Mazda and they kept swapping the 1.8 between each other. I'm not ***100%*** sure it's identical to a BP but it might be close enough. People love to tune these things over here. Improved Touring-A is the regional (local area) only class I'm running it in - which means the car is extremely limited on performance adding mods. I'm not as good at building them as I am at driving them so I'm one of the few people I know who doesn't cheat - BUT - the rulebook doesn't outlaw performance chips or port and polishing heads, intakes, rod bearings etc etc. So I might look into trying to squeeze a little more out of the car with some attention and love if I can still keep the cost down doing so without sacrificing reliability!
