2x8 currently This exact model: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FPWFF4B?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1 My friends who are more into home builds than I were telling me that the clock speed is a little low on these; but at least it makes em' cheap! 2 more is only $91 on Newegg right now, so I can justify that for a mild performance upgrade, for sure, more RAM will help with my video editing for the racing school job, as well!

I think I've currently got 16 of DDR4-3000, I could always get a 32GB kit of higher speed stuff if/when the VR gets replaced, maybe that'll help.

Interesting, I've heard this point made before because I basically don't know a single person that has the quest; even though the S and Quest 2 are spec'd similarly, there seems to be some inherent design problems with wireless systems that give people a sense of trepidation about using it. Knowing that my rig would even run the newer models was sort of the primary thing, so the fact you're so confident I can run an S easies a lot of my primary concern. Thanks!

1: I will do the best I can getting replacements for any items effected 2: Thank you for moving it to the appropriate section, I don't know why I didn't put it there.

Salutations all - sorry for the inactivity lately and the weird question. For those of you unaware, my basement - along with my basement room containing all my recording, driving and flying equipment - flooded last week, so I'm in the middle of a cleanup, teardown and insurance claim process. My Obutto and Rift CV-1 were both on the floor when the carpet soaked through, so my mother is recommending I claim them both on my insurance claim. Main CPU: i5-8600k 3.6 Ghz 6-core main GPU: 1070 Ti FTW Edition boost clocked/8GB edition. Looking at the way the insurance claim process works, if I get approved for a new VR It will most likely be another Oculus Model. Considering the fact they're practically the same other than the Wireless capability and the difference in display resolution. Which would the squadron members recommend based on these specifications? I've been using my CV-1 as a dedicated racing sim VR due to the busted head tracking since I unboxed it; and the wireless functions on the Quest 2 Intrigue me because it would make swapping from Race/Flight sim sides of my desk easier, but I'm worried that it maybe has too much resolution for my current GPU? I could swing either way, so I don't really know what to do. I would absolutely love to be able to use VR in the flight sim squadron, though, finally. I believe it would be genuinely a great next step up from my little 20 inch HP 1600x900 monitor. Thanks in advance - hope you're all safe and healthy!

Thanks for having me! I'm happy I was able to be useful on that second attack run. The P-38's a real joy to fly, and quite easy to manage the engines compared to a lot of other allied aircraft. I'd love to fly it again sometime!

I'll be around, Gen, if you can ping me on Discord, I'd appreciate it and love to learn some from you! Good news - I've got a phone interview for a new, 2nd job sometime this week so I might finally have enough spare money to afford a larger screen or a new VR for flight sims within the next couple of months, fingers crossed!

Most excellent! Our tree is still up in the fireplace room downstairs and we will be Celebrating the new years turn-over tonight at our house! We could all use the opportunity for jubilation!
-
Pretty puppy! Love em'!

That's really neat! I've actually got something Similar Our local hand-made furniture store in my area will take away any furniture from your home as an act of Christmas good faith and recycle it/reuse it in their store free of charge in the 2-3 weeks leading up to and after Christmas. Works out for everybody! I'm thinking of going and getting a love-seat or Futon to use while me and Sarah play games downstairs in the hobby room across from my Studio - and having them take my old mattress and mattress frame away in exchange. Great people, too!
-
That's amazing! My family doesn't really do Christmas lights but I really appreciate a well done display, that's quite nice.
-
Wow that's a pretty one! Really well picked!

Salutations everybody! I hope everybody is having a wonderful Holiday season, my family celebrates Christmas and we've put our tree up and it got me to thinking it would be nice to see a little bit of everybody's setup, if they were comfortable sharing? I'll start! Ours is a cute LED number that was on sale at one of the local Hardware stores, fits perfectly on our smaller Refrigerator downstairs near the Fireplace room for my pre-prepped meals. I set out the Tree-Skirt and assembled it, as well as splayed out the branches. Mother and Sarah did the ornamentation! It's humble, but we really, really like it. It also acts like a floor light for the basement fireplace room and hallway leading back to my studio and simulator rooms, so, I'm quite fond of it!

Well fought, congratulations! -
I pretty much just need the Collector planes (Have the standard editions) and Battle of Normandy. I also don't have tank crew yet, but that hasn't been put on sale unfortunately.
-
I'm in there like Swim wear. What does the squadron think would be best for me to buy? I'm guessing planes, now that I have all the base modules?

One of the tightest Rhythm sections and most stacked woodwinds sections you're ever going to hear in a big band ever. Phil Collins big band is still around even these days but unfortunately a lot of the great old Cats like George Duke are dead or dying/can't play anymore.

More WWI history pretending to be about guns from C&Rsenal, this series is honestly such a Goldmine.

Nothing cooler than light fighters operating out of a temporary airbase on a runway. So rugged.

That's a neat coincidence, I found that exact same video that Klaiber posted 2-3 days ago when looking up videos about the F-5. That MiG 21 sure ate an awful lot of 20mm without taking substantial damage. Good fun and flying by all involved. I really do love Light jet fighters. They seem to be the closest modern jet fighters to WWI/WWII style fighter engagements due to their limitations. So it always makes watching them fight really enjoyable. Bonus points for being so cheap and easy to produce that they'd likely be the main aircraft of any WWIII-esque conflict between major powers. (Can't poop out hundreds of F-35's a year, comparatively speaking)

Lets hope we never have to find out and all of us can continue to revel in 1st-4th gen fighter combat in the simulator, instead, yeah?
