  1. @Vonrd Assuming they don't have the skins encrypted like the F5.... I'd like to put in a request for a candy red Order Placed as well, I can't wait to Knife fight in a phone booth with some R73s and an HMCS .
  2. Seeing the Flogger was awesome, but I think everyone knows I'm "just a little bit" more excited about the other redfor they teased. I wonder if I can talk Vonrd into making me a candy red one when it's out...
  3. It looks like they have some real gems there! Obviously I'm in love with the Sukhoi and MiGs, but that Me-163 and the -262 have always been really cool to me, too. And I'm fairly sure everyone loves a blackbird!
  4. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/openbeta/2.9.1.48111/ The mt.lua "fix" isn't documented in this update from what I can see. That said, I'm on windows 10 and it made a noticeable difference to my performance as well. I was getting micro stutters sitting on the ground when I first fired up 2.9 last night, and after copying over the the mt.lua it seemed to solve them.
  5. @Vonrd Has been selected for the B-17G Livery challenge! https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/newsletters/8ee1c3ca60f9edbd7bec24a7c8a1a56e/
  6. Amazing skins as usual, Von! That all-red -21 is pure awesome!
  7. Congrats, Von!
  8. I made the switch last week I think, I'm still trying to tune in my settings but i did pick up a slight fps bump and reduction in frametimes to go with it. Improperly tuned settings have also been the cause of my iffy spotting recently.
  9. After talking to some of the NA pilots last night I realized that some of them were unaware that there is an Opencomposite (OpenXR) Launcher/Runtime Switcher. It will allow you to quickly swap between openXR and SteamVR, should you wish to do so. I have some vr games and applications that aren't compatible with OpenXR, so I actually tend to use it frequently. A bonus feature is that it will check for updates to OpenComposite and allow you to update with a single button click. The direct link is: https://znix.xyz/OpenComposite/runtimeswitcher.php?branch=openxr I understand that it looks like a shady link, however it comes from the OpenXR-Toolkit github page: https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/opencomposite Search for "launcher", and it will direct you to the link I've provided. I hope this will simplify life for some of you!
  10. Every time I do something to make it look better, I bring in issues with spotting. Like any anti-aliasing, which is very nice and I love, brings the possibility that when the algorithm smooths the edges, you lose the 1 pixel that the enemy aircraft is rendering as. I threw in the towel and said "Alright, if it looks bad but i'm functional, then that's what's going to have to happen." I forgot to link how to set your ground clutter to -150000, as 0 on the slider doesn't actually get rid of all of it: https://throughtheinferno.com/mod/remove-useless-ground-clutter-objects/
  11. For those who asked, Here are my settings for VR. As i've mentioned before it does look like a 90s game, but Generally i can hold down a smooth 30-45 FPS. I'm running open XR, with an acer AH101 (windows mixed reality). Ryzen 5 5600x, 32g of DDR 4 @ 3300, and an RTX 2070, my windows drive is on an m2, my DCS is on a raid 0 sata 3 SSD array, and I have a dedicated ssd on sata 3 just for my page file set at 64g. The goal of this setup was to have separation of windows files, page file for memory swapping, and DCS all acessing different drives and not conflicting on drive bandwidth.
  12. What is your Timezone? CST/CDT US time, specifically, I'm in Houston, Tx. I'm available after 8pm M-F, and can generally make time on weekends. Do you have a joystick or HOTAS? I use a T16000M stick and a TWCS with the linear bearing slider mod. Do you have TeamSpeak and Discord installed, as well as a working microphone? I have Discord installed (Messaged Klaiber already) and can install TeamSpeak (and SRS) if required. Do you have VR, TrackIR, or a FreeTrack system for view control? I use an Acer AH101 VR headset, with opencomposite/openxr and the vr shader mod. What sims are you currently flying? DCS is my first flight sim, I do play Elite: Dangerous from time to time. How did you hear about JG1? The recruiting thread in the DCS forums, then spoke to Klaiber on discord. Is there anything else that you'd like us to know? I'm new-ish to dcs and the MiG-21, but I've been enjoying my time in it. I've only played single player so far, so there are gaps in my knowledge that relate to things like ATC calls, traffic patterns, and other multi-player specific things.
