  1. Fighter pilots make movies, bomber pilots make history
  2. Congratulations! I'm glad I was a part of that streak, hopefully I can get some more in.
  3. Okay, I just updated to Win 10 because it was free for me but not for much longer. I wanted to take advantage of the DirectX 11 that will eventually run games and yeah, it was an easy decision. The upgrade from Win7 was super easy. I don't think much of anything has changed (I only had to reassign my headset and microphone so far) and my first thoughts are it's a win! (pun intended)
  4. The way newbie/noob/newb/n00b has been changed over the years, "nub" is pretty common the way you've read it. Welcome to the MMO world, boyos!
  5. Through the 4th, they are offering 50% off of Battle of Stalingrad. A good deal if you've been on the fence and wanted to try it out. If they had dropped BoM, as well, I would have picked it up.
  6. I use VAC (Voice Activated Commands) for DCS and ARMA single player. It can use a key input for command, which I have programmed next to my PTT for TS. I had to hot mic TS with Klaiber one night and he overheard me talking to my VAC This is the video that got me sold on it:
  7. I still haven't justified getting that one, either. I hardly fly the other heavies.
  8. Thanks for sharing!
  9. Aries Radio... I really want it to work but we've had very little luck with it. Maybe they've updated.
  10. I watched the video last night and see what you are talking about. A human would be able to filter all the excessive contacts and assign one to the player. Is there an interface that provides a player with a radar scope versus the F-10 menu? However, Klaiber's map has an AI GCI which does pretty well for the small groups. I wouldn't mind rotating through some manned GCI during practices when we have enough pilots.
  11. Well, you got farther than I did. I had a squirrelly takeoff that should have been aborted but I had enough liquid courage to turn it into a proper fireball.
  12. I'll have to watch the video later but I believe you're speaking of Ground Control Intercept (GCI), which Klaiber has built into his training map for us. It does quite well to guide you on to airborne targets
  13. It is not necessary to add mass to it, it's sturdy. I did lash down the vertical to the horizontal bars, though I only did that so I can fold the stick forward for storage.
  14. Here's my modified version of this set-up: I just recently brought the stick back further and trimmed the wooden base. That's why some of the exposed wood and PVC is showing up top. Yeah, I really need to take out the trash
  15. Hmm, I just picked up the Mirage, I'm thinking I'll keep holding out on the F-5. It would have been better if they made a MiG-28, though Honestly, one of those developers needs to get 1960-75 Hanoi as an official Map.
  16. A couple of shots from today's memorial. I may have had a bit of eye strain going on. Honestly, I'm proud to be a part of a community that has the honor to pay tribute to anyone that has passed with such honor. Godspeed Lily, I will never forget. 2016_6_12__19_11_15.bmp 2016_6_12__19_24_18.bmp
  17. We've focused mainly on the MiG-15bis and MiG-21bis. However, I do believe most of us have several modules, to include the German WWII aircraft.
  18. Myself, I have both 1.5 and 2.0 but the MiG-21 shakes so bad in Nevada that I've just been flying 1.5. Klaiber's map is 1.5, so we've been messing around there. So, I would say the majority of our cooperative stuff is on 1.5.
  19. I saw that last night while flying the L-39 with Klaiber and Trev. I'll definitely pick up the Mirage and probably go ahead and get the Gazelle just because it's a fun little helo.
  20. Trev was one of those spit-shined, black boot wearing misguided children.
  21. I'm terribly sorry to hear of your squadron's loss. I actually knew Lily from Joint Ops and flew with her a bit more than a few times. I recall that she was a very calm and skilled pilot. My thoughts go out to her family and friends. That video must have been from the aerobatic classes, one of the few I never had the chance to attend. I will do my best to attend.
  22. RoF is such a beautiful simulator, I only wish I had more time to dedicate to it. I hope my actions in the air let Vonrd live
  23. That's a pretty awesome summation, Barton! Pretty neat how public opinion can be shaped by a little misdirection, planned or not.
