  1. I will also get it, it's too close to where I live not to. All VOR and VORTACs! I can use my real flying apps to fly the map, now.
  2. Wags has teased us, yet again: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=146968 I'm totally making a mission with MQ-1's taking over all the cool airspace areas and putting the fighters in time out in a little MOA. HAHA! I successfully merged the topic. Yay me!
  3. I own them both but have only flown the Brandenburg online for recon missions. I love the water effects on the pilot. In the air it's great until someone sees me, there is no running away in that plane.
  4. Fantasy Island's plane was a Widgeon and it is currently for sale.
  5. I'm not going to lie, my son's fascination with Disney's Planes: Fire & Rescue renewed my desire to fly float planes. The character of Dipper made me narrow down on what I would consider a personal (and nearly affordable) PBY Catalina, the Widgeon: It's the toy I grab when we're playing
  6. I'm glad the plane survived. That's unfortunate to have debris clutter your landing zone at any time, much worse for the only surviving flier. If I ever win the lottery I'm going after a Grumman Widgeon with retractable floats and a house on a lake.
  7. I had not heard of this story before. Quite the maneuver and dedication to his wingman. https://www.warhistoryonline.com/military-vehicle-news/pushed-phantom-out-of-north-vietnam.html?src=fba&type=wca&page=who
  8. That's funny. I thought we had talked about the pre-purchase already but attributed it to my old age and something about deja-vu and the matrix. The post was bumped because of new skins, this one makes my purchase make sense:
  9. That's what I get for rushing, c instead of an s. It look gorgeous, hopefully this means 2.0 is close!
  10. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=145372 Bought!
  11. Yeah, still trying not to get impatient about 2.0 but it's hard for me. I may sneak a currency sortie tomorrow in the -21, though. Put some weather on and fly from one airfield to another
  12. Pretty damn impressive. Now I know what to look for in the flight model in DCS: World 2.0
  13. Those are pretty awesome. You can certainly see the early love of flight those guys had on their faces.
  14. I'll just drop this bomb right here: https://m.thevintagenews.com/2015/08/29/hbos-the-mighty-eighth-an-update-its-getting-close-500-million-budget/
  15. I grabbed the little Sikorsky, thanks for the heads up.
  16. That's how it happens to me, too
  17. I built an electric Cub that never flew, I got it from my grandfather when I lived in the same town with the intent to have his help building it but my parents moved several states away. I got up to coating the wings and fuselage and couldn't get the hang of it with my mother's iron so it came out quite wrinkled. My grandfather flew glow engines and I later (around 22) raced glow RC street cars for a bit.
  18. Finally an award with Richthofen! Haha, I really wish I could find the time to fly FiF sometime.
  19. Definitely, I'm waiting on the album
  20. Once my son gets old enough I'll break back into that hobby, but right now I'm balancing what I have to the best of my ability. I flew a little back with my grandfather eons ago.
  21. I would fly to every airport with a tower and taxi to go get fuel. It would be worth ever bit to see the looks and field the questions.
  22. Congratulations to all, these are all great accomplishments!
  23. that is awesome. I don't know if I would be honored or scared to fly an airplane like that!
  24. ***cough***upgrade***ahem*** Excuse me.
  25. makes me want to fly that sim!
