I got a ride in an SNJ a while back for Father's Day, it was quite a bit of fun and if I had some more disposable income, I would get checked out in one of those, for sure!
-
Which one? I'm sure some show the outside of the scope at the same time as the inside. I was talking about how the crosshairs are locked to the center view when aiming down the sight, shutting down TrackIR's freelook.
-
Any rumblings as to when this thing is going live?
-
If you go to aim down the sight, yes, it shuts off. It took a little getting used to, like flight sims, but it's become a necessity just the same, really.

I have found it hard to play any FPS after ArmA 3's head tracking integration. Even Skyrim and Fallout are difficult to sit through.

Can't say that I use that expression but when I may do the following from time to time: https://youtu.be/2FyuHA_zAOM?t=3m11s

Pfalz D.IIIa Pilot Looking to Fly With Group
Britchot replied to BlackFalcon's topic in JG1 Recruitment
Hoggen's "The Forced War" is what I believe BlackFalcon is referring to and it's available from the internet archive at the following link. I'm to believe that this isn't piracy due to the nature of the website, it seems the copyrights are in order. I'll definitely read this on my upcoming extended "vacation." https://archive.org/details/TheForcedWar -
Where is my Norwegian Ninja? I was surfing YT and saw this well put together gem on Norway's special kids and I thought of you. I've got to say, it's impressive! I hope you and your son are well and kicking tail in Star Wars X-wing Miniatures!

Haha, I love the duffleblog!

The parachute part brought memories of this gem (it will wash the terribad out of your mouth):

Still open beta but it brings hope!

are you running Overwolf or another overlay program?

That is pretty much why Saturday's are open already, so we don't fly 7 days a week. It used to be Fridays, too, but MiGs are sexy. We won't set that down as an allotted time for "other gaming" but I believe it would be hard pressed to ever fill that day in with another encouraged flying night. BoS/BoM would fall under II./JG1's calendar, Sunday/Tuesday/Thursdays.
-
Somewhere around here are some calendars with the different practices and event schedules, I believe in the SOP section for each squadron. Saturday is open across all three squadrons. Anyone that shares your interest in any of those games is more than welcome to join up, asking around is definitely the way to go. I play ArmA quite often at random times but nothing consistent, Trev plays more but he recently bricked his Warthog and is waiting on a reponse from TM. I loved RO2 but after playing so much ArmA, I don't find any FPS/3PS enjoyable without TrackIR, even Skyrim. However, I have a wife and three kids so I have to pick my battles wisely and currently my focus is on Ghost Skies and Cliffs of Dover. The issue is that we fly three squadrons and not all pilots fly each one. Meaning that taking one of the established nights away from one will reduce participation disproportionately. However, if you find someone not flying in II./JG1 in CloD, for example, they have three additional nights a week open or those without DCS World have Fridays.

This got me back in the search for ¡Tchkung!, a Mongolian playing a horsehead fiddle and throat singing.
-
Yes, that song is awesome! I saw it placed to a gaming or sports video somewhere before.
-
This one shows some concert footage, even the crowd on the pipes and drums around 0:22: All Them Witches' bass player/singer has an interesting strumming technique with his index as well as his thumb. I like the rhythm of the song but the video gave me an instant headache when they went to the ethereal plane. The strobe was good but the post-processing scroll of the image hurt

I finally stumbled back upon this band through perusing the internet, I couldn't remember the name and it has been irking me over the years. I saw them in a club in Anchorage, Alaska back in the late 90's, probably '98. I had a tape in my truck and listened to it over and over again, to the ire of my best friend. That concert was the most interactive of any concert I have ever been to. They had fire-breathers in the crowd, dancers, it was all around, there was really no stage. At the end they brought metal drums, steel barrels, and such into the crowd and gave people (including me) a drumstick and let us keep the rhythm. I stood next to the guy that did most of the singing (he's the one that handed me the drumstick) and he gave me a great big, hug at the end. It was a very a moving experience. ¡Tchkung! The female vocalist/violinist, Devon, made me love almost any fast music with a violin from that day on:

I need your exact game name and player ID (may want to PM it to me). Give me a week and I'll add you to trmhe XML and get you the link. The week is due to my hectic personal time at home, not that it's difficult to do. I just have to refresh my memory on it.

I agree with your first question however your first paragraph also answered it. When the Army procured its own Predators, the Warrior A (MQ-1B) and Gray Eagle (MQ-1C), the AF fought against it. They didn't want the army to have fixed wing attack aircraft, they wanted to support the Army in that role. However, with limited AF drones available, the Army wanted their own and now they have quite a few and love the fact that they can work hand-in-hand with imbedded units on a consitant basis.

Yeah, I saw that. One of the test pilots graduated from the National Test Pilot School here in Mojave.

"...too big to fail." Although it was only $6.9 Billion, it did go on for 22 years of planning and development. But hey, the Army's reallocation of the Comanche's funding went directly towards my career field and indirectly into my pocket. Searching for those links/pics brought me to this old gem, a helo that I recall reading about as a kid, the AH-56 Cheyenne. With a pusher propeller: http://www.defensemedianetwork.com/stories/what-might-have-been-lockheeds-ah-56a-cheyenne/

I have the Hanriot but as rarely as I'm able to fly RoF, it's normally in a German aircraft.
