Maybe I'll finally finish my Entente collection of airplanes collecting dust on my HD hangar.

DCS WWII now developed by Eagle Dynamics (Luthier / RRG out)

My money spent on the DCS: WWII kickstarter was put forth in the hope that it would win me that shiny pair of rudder pedals. I was against it but when I had a chance to win, I figured, why not? I honestly would have accepted them instead of the completely amazing gesture the actual winner did, giving them to a TF modder. Call me selfish, I know. This is good to know: -

Wow, if this doesn't end his career, I don't know what will. -
You can't argue with that price. That looks great!

It's always amazing to look at these old photos. Thanks Labroisse.

The new release date is: "..when it's ready." Looks like Ubisoft is at it again. Instead of the "two weeks, be sure" comment, it looks like they've learned a more appropriate phrase from the UltraPack modders.

I received the two books today and my first impression is favorable. They are high quality and have a lot of great photos of I./JG3 during France and the Battle of Britain.

I'll have to watch this tomorrow at work, if I get the chance.

That temp agency sounds worse than the knee injury. Torn ligaments are no joke, I've been in a similar situation many years ago. I wish you a speedy recovery, for sure. We'll be here when you get the time.

Looks like the same plane. I'm surprised he didn't list the incident on the page, other's I've looked had had everything like that listed. "PLT ATTEMPTED SPUR OF THE MOMENT LANDING IN OPEN FIELD. ACFT WHEELS SANK INTO SOFT TERRAIN AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND ACFT NOSED OVER." That looks like a good spot to take a leak...

I went ahead and picked up Jagdgeschwader 3 "Udet" in WWII: Vol. 1, also. With all the Battle of Britain flying we've been doing in CloD, I've been more interested in I./JG3's early exploits. Plus, when I was a kid my mother always encouraged me to buy books by saying, "You can never go wrong buying a book. It will be there for life." I think it made her happy I wasn't only trying to pick up the newest G.I. Joe figure.

I'm finally getting around to ordering this book today. While looking around, I did find this book on I./JG3, too bad they don't have one on JG1. Although I do have the Defenders of the Reich Series by Mombeek, so it's probably just as effective. I wonder if Defending the Reich: The History of Jagdgeschwader 1 "Oesau", also by Mombeek, is just a rewrite of those 3 smaller paperback books. I find it hard to spend ~$70 to find out, though.

Thanks Klaiber, this is even better than I envisioned. Great work making it visually pop out on the forum! -
I picked up a couple advertisements on Youtube today showing a machinima using CloD:

Rare 3D Camera Found Containing Photos from WWI

Wow, that is absolutely amazing! -
Of course they would suggest that, it means more money.

Klaiber, I love my XFX ATI card but there is a couple reasons with Cliffs of Dover that I would recommend an Nvidea. Namely a rendering circle drawn out in the distance very noticeable over the water.

That is an awesome picture. I love old photos of obscure (relatively obscure in the US) items!

During my interwebz wanderings I found some interesting information. Klaiber may or may not have been aware of this already. I always assumed the Finnish Air Force adopted the use of the hakenkreuz because of their allegiance with WWII Germany. It turns out it was the lucky charm of a Swedish count, von Rosen, who had it painted on the aircraft he gave the Finns on 6 March 1918. On 18 March 1918, the Finns adapted the Hakaristi as their official symbol, certainly pre-dating the NSDAP. The white circle background is interesting because it was created out of the necessity to cover up the advertisement of a flying school. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_Air_Force

Thanks for the heads up, Klai.

Should we start the JG1_Klaiber fund?
