  1. I flew the latest update and they dropped the rudder pedal movement for a twist grip, so that drops just a little immersion in my book but I don't really look at my feet when I fly. The interface for setting up the controls is a little bit better and they added inversions to the axes, so my confusion with roll is gone. I still like the X axis for yaw and Z for roll, it's not like a plane but in my mind, it's how a spaceship should fly. The strafing movements make it quite fun to fly and shoot. It's starting to feel more and more like a space simulator, I'm liking it!
  2. Very interesting, thanks Klaiber. I was shocked to see 'Xmas' used, I thought it was a modern slang. However, it appears to be as old as the first century but at least as old as the 15th.
  3. Merry Christmas to everyone!
  4. Thanks Vik!
  5. Klaiber, did you add Somnus to JG-1? I couldn't figure out how. I see he's already there. How do I edit that permission, btw?
  6. Grab the MiG-21 and 15 if you have any inclination towards the jets beyond the F-86. I'm all for the MiGs, myself. I'll have to dust off my UH-1 controls and get some helo work in with you. I have the current library of DCS modules, I'm hesitant on getting the Hawk until a sale, though.
  7. Anything you can walk away from, I guess
  8. My 7 year-old daughter just flew the Pfalz D.III and managed to make 2 good landings. Her other two were collisions with trees and inattention during the flare. She's happy with the new flight model.
  9. I had an X52 for many years and the only thing I had to complain about is that it didn't last longer. Of course, I used the heck out of it and I wouldn't call it unusually quick wear except for the thumb slider. It was a very versatile stick and would definitely recommend it for the price range.
  10. Trev is also looking forward to it. We were in the original Kickstarter campaign and have been patiently not spending more money.
  11. I believe you are 100% correct Maus, at least from what I've seen in the past.
  12. I'll hold out for the next sale but I'm very impressed with this move from 777.
  13. The left strut had 100 more psi than the right to counter the torque during takeoff, it leaned to the right when sitting still on the ground.
  14. It's out! I'll see you guys this weekend http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2248247#post2248247
  15. December 3rd isn't bad at all, should be good!
  16. Guess what's highlighted in the latest TF Mod update?!? http://youtu.be/uF6yJ47sXgY?t=5m26s
  17. Nice Barton, I've only had the time to watch the first minute or so but I'm definitely putting time aside to finish it. Great music choice and the beat hit perfectly when the 109 exploded.
  18. Klaiber! Now we can combine our two most beloved non-flying games! http://youtu.be/VkGPq-Wg_8Y?t=3m17s
  19. I also use CPUID.
  20. I kept my HDD for the "slow games" (things I play offline or DCS) but I wound up formatting it. I'm pretty sure you don't need to but you will have the old OS on it. I found it easier to just start over, personally.

  23. No need to apologize, that was very well thought out and quite enlightening. I still haven't taken the time to fly it since updating my game to the release version, I've used what little time I've had for Skyrim and DCS: MiG-21. Your points are all valid, I just need to get in and see if I can come to accept the FM or not.
