Oh I'll bet you're heating the bitch up a bit, doing that kind of work Just don't put her away wet

Whoa....look at those screens! What kind of FPS do you get with that? What SA!
-
No, no.....but thanks for the thought. I actually have stuff like that here, but to remove what I have would be a PITA, and figure out how to surface mount it, not to mention I"d have to reassign everything in two sims. The easiest thing at this point would be a grip that would mount to my base. But for now I'll just see what Virpil's response is. Best to take things one step at a time. Thanks for the offers and thoughts, Vonrd and everyone. In the end, I dug this grave and may have to lie in it for a while. I had a great look at how you guys have gotten along without me (thanks to Hotlead's live stream), and the results of that makes me very happy....well done! Keep up the great work!! S!

I've tried everything I can think of on the software or computer side. It really seems like a failure on the hardware side. From everything I can see, my grip appears to be DOA. Since my hardware comes from a long way off....the resolution would have to take weeks if not months. Sigh. One thing that might be beneficial is if anybody can tell a method that ensures that a driver is deleted, along with the hardware. I feel that it is possible that the old (possibly corrupted) driver is not being renewed. However, it is entirely possible, after firmware re-installations, profile re-intializations and attempted re-calibrations, that there is no solution beyond new hardware. I've started a ticket with Virpil, and honestly, it is not about the money should I have to repay....it is about the time lost. I guess I'll miss you guys for a long while, if nothing miraculous happens. So please live-stream, record, or whatever. I will live vicariously through you until I can actually fly again. S!

That IS cool. And that is SO the kind of shit I'd do

Many thanks....we can't have that first thread getting out of hand. I think maybe Vonrd might already have a hard enough time keeping track.

Virpil Throttle Dial Slider and Z-axis calibration
-Hawkeye- replied to Heinrich's topic in Technical Support
Yeah. You probably upgraded firmware recently? Go into DIView, right-click on that axis, calibrate. Then hit "reset to defaults". What can happen, if you happen to have a failed calibration, the the end point values can get screwed up. If an end point gets a number in it that's less than a value that's somewhere in between, it will "jump" back once you surpass that number. Setting it back to defaults will make the low end 0, the high end 4096, and the middle 2048 (or something like that). You can readjust the calibration after that once it's working again, if necessary. -
Sure!

I actually made this one myself Request this be added to our JG1 official skin pack. Luftritter Pfalz D.IIIa EDIT: The original file has been replaced with an improved version. Crosses changed to Iron Cross style, skin base color corrected to standard gray, tires color improved. Anybody who got the first version, please delete it and replace it with the file from the updated link above. Photos of final version:

Get you some of those soft velcro ties. They're removable, re-usable, and easy to work with

Guess who was first? I love Huey Lewis just as much. Ironic that he is going deaf!

You've been missing a lot lately on the FC side, what with Black September in full swing. There are high hopes for the future of FiF, from what I've experienced. It really is better. Hope to see you back with us soon!

Donald Fagan, of Steely Dan. Possibly the best group to have ever existed, if there is such a thing. What memories of young adulthood he (and they) engender....and moods that are now hard to imagine. Thumbs up, sir!

True dat! And also, the ability to forget is paramount for maintaining sanity (or is that encompassed in the above quote?). Which is why (I tell others) that I can't remember a tenth of what I've learned, LOL

Don't you do that....when you can get one of these (or other brand) Monster mounts that lower your devices in a completely adjustable way: Monster mounts Even if they don't make an adapter plate for your specific stick (not sure about that), you can easily make an adapter plate of your own from plywood, plexiglas, whatever. Just take out the screws from the bottom side of your base and get longer ones to cover the width of the adapter plate (sheet metal screws, most likely). You get the idea.

You missed the point. Running two videos off of one video card is like running it at an extremely high resolution. I don't care what kind of video card you have, that is extra work for it....not to mention the possibility of multi-screen bugs. Do you not know me by now? I am all about performance and winning Making things work off of single devices is secondary, to say the least. Nothing happens by magic Truthfully, a lot of this hardware I have (that monitor above used to be my primary monitor) is just leftovers that I've found a secondary use for. Thus, the secondary system. Did I fail to mention that the cost of that SBC (was) less than $75.00 ? There is some amazing shit going on, if you keep abreast of it. PS, miss flying with you. When are you coming back?

Shut 'jo mouf I swear that when I was flying in the very first iterations of FiF, a million years ago, I had a 21 inch CRT that dwarfed that....that one must only be a 19 inch! But dayam, did it perform!! And don't you pretend you didn't....!

What do you put in their food, to keep them from biting wires and smacking you upside the head while flying, LOL? I love cats, and dogs. There is no one or the other, for me.

I just import map files as .jpg's and just make them my desktop image. To be active I'd have to setup a split screen, and I'm not even sure how to do that; but in any case I'd be running both screens with one video card then, and I don't want to compromise my game performance. This way it is absolutely separate. That second screen is run by a single board computer called a "Raspberry Pi". It fits in the palm of your hand and, has four USB 2.0, ethernet, HDMI video, and even wireless: It runs on a version of Linux called "Raspbian". The case (with fan) are separate items. That clear one I have opens up easily on hinge from the top. I added the switch for the case fan. For what I use it for, it doesn't even need one, and so runs totally silent.

That Pfalz is my favorite....really nice color coordination. Looking forward to seeing it in the game. I'll wait for Vonrd to update the main pack so we all have the same file names for your planes. Up to now, Vonrd and Larner have made all of my skins. I just got started a week ago and I'm about to release a Pfalz that I did myself. I'm extremely slow and am probably doing things in an inefficient manner; considering all of the planes everybody puts out, you're at least 10 times faster than I am. But I am very happy with the results, as it is about 90% done. S!

What's up with the big mic....karaoke? Maybe streaming?

@AngryGoat I really like your goat symbol that you use on the side. Your color schemes are certainly varied! Great job on all of them. I am not sure whether it matters in what way the files are submitted.... have to see what Vonrd and admins have to say about that.
