DeFreest Larner Posted October 9, 2019 Report Posted October 9, 2019 This ought to give the Oesau Boys a good laugh...my first sortie in a 109! After a couple practice take-offs and landings I headed over to Wings of Liberty. I may just stick with the SPAD -Hawkeye-, Erhardt, EmerlistDavjack and 3 others 6 Quote
Labroisse Posted October 9, 2019 Report Posted October 9, 2019 Hey you survived, a victory in my book. Quote
-Hawkeye- Posted October 9, 2019 Report Posted October 9, 2019 Who would laugh at that? You did a great job, I thought. A lot better than I would, LOL. Quote
DeFreest Larner Posted October 9, 2019 Author Report Posted October 9, 2019 Have to say, it felt VERY uncomfortable having that big armoured backrest blocking everything - was expecting to be bounced pretty much the whole time. Got a nasty fright when the Yak and the Ishak turned up! More than anything, I’m amazed I landed the damn thing lol! J5_Hotlead and Klaiber 2 Quote
Pfeil Posted October 10, 2019 Report Posted October 10, 2019 You know you can remove the top part of the armored backrest right? The sight on your 6 gets much much better. Quote

Pfeil Posted October 10, 2019 Report Posted October 10, 2019 Aaah yes the usual case of server being realer than reality. In reality it was less of a problem as you could move your head more than what is allowed in il2 and you have 2 eyes. But lots of 109 pilots removed the top of the backrest because of better vision on 6. -Hawkeye- 1 Quote

I can tell you that that feeling exists even without the armor plate there. You always feel paranoid. And just about the time you start to feel comfortable you get complacent and then you get bounced. And then you're paranoid all over again. Etzel, 93rd Aero, R.Talbot and J5_Hotlead 3 Quote
