Salute guys! Jasta 5 is running their annual Black September campaign starting September 10th. I’m honored to be the Commander for the German forces and would love to have as many JG1 pilots join me as I can. Currently, only Vonrd and I are registered. Interested pilots can register by voting in the poll here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/79999-black-september-vii-campaign-august-27-sept-24/ There will be three missions, taking place on Saturday the 10th, the 17th, and the 24th. The mission starts at 1800 UTC and runs for 2 hours. The mission is deceptively simple: three ground attack points will be contested by ground forces during the missions. The winner of each session is the one who controls the most of the three ground attack points at the end of the session. Any questions, feel free to ask!

Hey Von! Thank you! Would you mind making this change to both? - Move the black band on the cowling to be a little closer to the cockpit, so that it seems more centered when you look at it from the side. Other than that, these look great!

Hey Von! I've been wanting to complete my set of Allied planes; thank you for offering! Here's what I've got thus far... Nieuport 28 For my Nieuport, I'd like the following: - Cowling J10 yellow with a single black stripe, similar to the pattern in the photo below (I think it might look cleaner with only one black stripe as opposed to the two in the photo): - Yellow wheel covers with black swirls, same pattern as in photo above. - "Hotlead" script underneath the cockpit. However, instead of my usual font, if you can pull the one from my SPAD 13 skin and use that instead, that would be great. (I believe the font is Magneto.) - Shield and logo on the fuselage. - American roundels. - Diagonal white stripe on top wing, same as with SPAD skin. - On the lower right wing, could you put this Joker card, like Rickenbacker's war bonds poster in the second photo below? (No card on the top wing; just the bottom wing) Camel For my Camel, I'd like the following: - Same script preferences as my N.28 - Shield and logo on the fuselage. - American roundels. - Diagonal white stripe on top wing, same as with SPAD skin. - Same black and yellow wheel covers as my Tripe skin. - Same cowling as my N.28 skin. SPAD 7 (150 and 180 hp) For my SPAD 7 skins, exact mirror of my SPAD 13 skin. I'm still working on ideas for the Se5a, Brisfits, and Dolphin. I'll come back with those when I have 'em. Hey guys! Today is a little weird. Didn’t know if I could be free until now and I don’t know how long I can stay. So, we’ll take a break from what we normally do. Hawkeye (formerly JG1_Luftritter) has been wanting to fly N.28s with me on Flugpark for a while, so I think today is the day to try it. I’ve always had a soft spot for that plane, and if we ever use it in FiF, it would be good practice to try it here. If any JG1 pilots want to join me on fighter sweeps in this *wonderful* machine, they’re more than welcome! I’ll be in Flugpark discord today, at 2pm Central US time (1 hour after normal FiF start time). I should be back to regular operations next Sunday.

Those are fair points; and I think, like you said, a discussion for another time. In the meantime today, since we do need some sort of cross-comms and since we’ve had several pilots (myself included) who have had issues getting SRS to work, we’ll use Discord for primary and Teamspeak as guard. Etzel, if you mute yourself in Teamspeak, you should be able to use the same PTT button. Hopefully this will work for today.

Hurrah! And that is a really good question! I think we will actually try using Discord for individual flights and Teamspeak for guard channel. JG1 does have an SRS server too, but some users have had difficulties with the program for il-2. So, pilots will need separate push to talk buttons mapped for Teamspeak and Discord.

Thanks for tagging them! Both have helped me through PM already; Butzzell pointed me to the terrain adjustment thread on the il-2 forums. Could be an interesting option; however, it would require every player to have a custom file downloaded prior to joining the sever. I’ll have to think through what I’d like to do next. Good food for thought though!

Hey all! This one’s for the mission makers in the crowd. I’m working on a mission where I’d like to place airfields on locations other than the default locations on the Arras map. How can I make these airfields viable ones to take off and land at? With what I have currently, terrain makes these tasks quite difficult.
