At last it’s finally here! Today signals the end of a journey for me. After 3 years of dreams and hard work, “Legend of Murvaux: The Final Flight of Frank Luke Jr.†has arrived at long last.
I would like to heartily thank all those here on the forums who encouraged me during this project's implementation. You guys are why I made this film and it is you guys who made it possible in so many ways.
Salute!

Doesn't everyone have a Pup on the top of their tree?

Tonight I was on Wargrounds bashing around in my Pfalz D.IIIa. On one of my sorties, I encountered the enemy's recon trying to return to base, close to 1000 meters above the ground. I took shots at him, and as I got closer, I could see that his propeller was stopped, but that he might have enough altitude to glide back to a friendly field, so I pressed my attack in the hopes of knocking him out of the sky. Things went along well until I heard bullets from his tail turret impact my airframe and then heard the terrible crunching sound of wings peeling away. Amazingly, I was able to nurse my wounded bird down from 1000 meters high to the trenches and land her. I couldn't believe my survival at the time, and remarked I'd have to shoot some screenshots, since I had no external views to see the full extent of the damage done. When I took a look at the track I shot, I was even further amazed: I had miraculously landed my wounded bird without any upper wings at all!
Now, I'm no Ace pilot and I've died plenty of times but I guess I got lucky this time. Thank goodness I didn't try to make any sudden moves!!!

Here is the video from a mission we flew a while ago. It was a really fun flight and I enjoyed watching all the DFWs flying together. The video is in 1080p, so be sure to watch it in full screen!

Mauler Mithel reacted to Butzzell in FiF XXIIIS! All
Looking at a time line for this next FiF.
Holidays are fast approaching. Superbowl will be here before you know it. This will put us on hold for a few weeks
At present we have a January start date. Wen Jan 6 and Sat Jan 9 for dry run, Wen Jan 13, Sat Jan 16 for first session.
We will be using the Channel map and some of the faster planes. The new missions from the preview will be included. That will give us 12 objectives per side.
Scenario:
1917, the war has been going badly for the Central countries. The Kaiser abdicates and new leadership is needed. An enterprising industrialist steps up to take over. Lex Luther, owner of LexCorp, seizes the opportunity. He launches a bold plan and invades England. Kent is captured. LexCorp forces are marching on Clark. The Planet faces a daily peril from the never ending onslaught. All is not lost. General Malcom Lois rallies the British forces for a counter attack.
Can Lois rescue Clark and save the Planet? Will Kent be free? Tune in to FiF XXIII to see what happens.
In the mean time we have some missions we can run that are a little bit different.
These are not FiF missions. They are a dynamic scenario where land is captured. They are the result of a concept proposed by JG1_Shulte_J10, call sign Moxie. They bear his call sign as tribute.
Here is how they work. Each team has a middle area. At first this is the only area that shows on the map. In that area are four bomber targets and one recon target. The targets are divided into two north and two south. When the two targets in the south are destroyed, a new area appears in the North. There is a new air base and two new targets. The same thing happens when the two Northern targets are hit, a new area appears in the south. When the four targets in the center are destroyed, the airbase is captured and switches sides. The same thing happens when the new targets in the North and South expansion areas are destroyed. The airbase switch sides 30 seconds after the targets are destroyed.
Final victory is achieved by destroying the enemy HQ. To get the HQ to light up as a target , you have to have destroyed all other targets and completed the recon. The recon can be done at any time in the session. It does not give any secondary target like in FiF. It merely puts an X in the recon area to show it has been done.
We will offer these as just for fun open missions at the usual FiF times.
These are some maps to show how targets are designated and how the expansion looks.

Mauler Mithel reacted to Klaiber in Siemens-Schuckert D.IVYeah, that's my thoughts on it too.
Once 777 merged with 1C, their focus has been completely on IL-2: BOS / BOM.

Mauler Mithel reacted to Klaiber in Siemens-Schuckert D.IVHaving an SS D.IV in RoF would be awesome.
It's too bad they stopped making aircraft.

sorry your record was cut short due to a collision with me of all things.
Oddly enough, I remember saying last week that I would be sure to cover your 6. Well you were definitely clear and I would like my goggles back. I think they are on your engine somewhere out in Russia.
Next time we will have to talk about which way we are going! All the fun of learning how to mold together.
S! well earned

Ive been running ssd's for a while now.
For our flight sims I haven't seen any dramatic increases using ssd's like fps
But I'd never go back to reg hdd's for the OS or Programs of this sort
Load time's.
OK in reference to size. I put my OS, and my sim stuff on my 1st SSD
I ran out of room so fast, Ive have 2 120's now. Smaller ssd's are inexpensive
per gig, but that's all changing with time.
Word of advice back up, backup, system image, and back up, somewhere other than your ssd
When these fail (had one) , there is no warning, blink gone
Also as a sideline, maintenance on a ssd (defraging/clean space wiping) is different than a reg. hhd
Easier actually, but if windows is not set up correctly, you'll shorten its lifespan
Their measured in the amount of operations.
hope this helps, sorry about stepping in

Mauler Mithel got a reaction from J5_Hotlead in Short FilmsHello Gentlemen,
I have been working up short films with multiple games, but most of all RoF. I am always looking for critiques and things to approve upon.
All of my videos so far have been from online battles, so skins wont always be on or just be in the wrong theater. I would record against AI, but they only split S until they are on the deck. Not very interesting stuff.
So here is my latest creation, dedicated to France's Jean Navarre. The next will probably Ernst Udet or Lothar von Richthofen.
