DCG co-op players not showing in squadron editor?
Lowengrin replied to Appall-O's topic in DCG Public Discussion
You could cut and paste them out of the gunner file and into the pilot file. Just over-write an AI pilot and delete the squadron info in the player's info. For example' date=' from the gunner file, delete the yellow highlighted part of this line: 000 000 001 Paul Lowengrin @[h']USN_VF_42A1 #[/h]DGen\Photo *00 &1920Unknown And paste it over an AI pilot into the squadron you want them to appear in: [uSN_VF_42A1] 000 000 001 Paul Lowengrin @DGen\Photo *00 &1920Unknown 000 000 002 Leonard March @DGen\UN\13 *40 &1911Unknown . . . -
It will decide based on the number of troops, tanks, vehicles present at a location. The attacker is always the side with the stronger forces.

As Lonestar said. It sounds like you failed to uncheck the replace modes for DGen (and maybe NGen) before deleting DCG. If what he said doesn't work, you can delete DGEN.EXE and/or NGEN.EXE from your main IL-2 folder. Then copy and paste the DGEN_BAK.EXE and NGEN_BAK.EXE files and rename them DGEN.EXE and NGEN.EXE. Of course, if you don't have one or either of these BAK (backup files) don't delete the matching one!!!

DCG co-op players not showing in squadron editor?
Lowengrin replied to Appall-O's topic in DCG Public Discussion
That's because DCG can't store all the player stats in the pilot.dcg file. It used to, but in large online campaigns when there were large numbers of players rotating in and out of squadrons, their stats would end up getting over written as DCG could only track a maximum of 16 pilots/squadron. So now DCG will dump players into the gunners.dcg file when the player is inactive or if there are too many players in one squadron. So see if they are in there. -
Each location can have "troops" at the location. These troop values are tracked in the locations.dcg. Basically, infantry is abstracted in DCG. Tanks have an attack value against them and a defense value - which is basically the most damage they can do to the infantry when the tanks are in an attack role or a defense role. Anyway, if you want to add a new tank, just find an old one that's similar what you think the new one is and use those stats.

Campaign Stats resetting even when I dont die.
Lowengrin replied to ChrisDaPra's topic in DCG Bug Reports
If it happens again, as soon as it happens, can you email me (or post here) the dcg.log file in your main DCG folder. Sounds like a bug. Thanks! -
Ground units need to be added to: armor.dcg: this is only for armor units (tanks, armored cars, etc). It sets up their start and end dates, their replacement type and their infantry attack/defense points. gobjects.dcg: this is for stationary objects only gunits.dcg: this is for all moving ground units shipnames.dcg: this is only for ships and only to give them names by default

I did post it on the old forum, but now it's gone. I'd have to check the code....
-
It is strange that that first example only has one SKILL entry. It should have two as there are two planes. That is/was a bug.
-
Haha! Except it's not really new. MDS has been in DCG since 2.46. )

These questions don't really belong in the beta test thread, but I'll answer them. DCG knows an AI pilot's state from the event log file. Each pilot in the pilot.dcg file that flew has an ID that it looks for in the log to find out if the pilot died, if the pilot shot another plane down, etc. Then DCG tabulates the scores for those that lived (so they might get a little better for the next time). If they died, DCG creates a new pilot at one rank lower than the previous pilot and gives him some experience based on that rank, his country, and his squadron's overall skill level. You can set the squadron's skill level on the DCG Squadron Panel.

The other numbers refer to which game version the ground unit/ship is active in. For everything new, you can just "0" out all of them except the last one (which is IL-2 1946 and should be set to "1"). The unit at the end of the list is the substitute to use if you are using an earlier version of the game. And yes, you'll need to add them to the other files as well.

Permission to Re-Release Libya 41 Campaign for DBW
Lowengrin replied to WindWeapon's topic in DCG Public Discussion
Do you mean the Libia '41 campaign that's available as a separate download on www.lowengrin.com? That particular campaign was designed by PVI Eagle (www.pvi.it) so you'll need his permission to post it. -
There's nothing in DCG to change your cloud settings. I cannot tell you why this occurred. Hopefully someone else may post as to why. As for the "Generate Mission" button, in many of the game modes, it is completely unnecessary to press this button. If you replace DGen or NGen, for example, you need never press this button. It's only for the "older" modes. Where the mission files gets generated is to where ever your current campaign is being created. If it's a campaign from NGen or DGen replacement modes, you can see the path to the mission folder in the bottom left of DCG. BTW, in those cases, it's actually over-writing the mission that was generated at the end of the last one you finished....
-
Lonestar, can you send me an actual mission file (.mis) with the funny bombing missions. And also, if you could send me the core waypoint files for your campaign like the .srd, .prd, .rds files. Thanks! I'll have a look at the intercept flights. There's some other things I wanted to tweak about them.
-
Easy fix' date=' thanks! It won't appear if there is no folder for it in PaintSchemes. DCG determines which planes you have in your version by the paint folders. So check that you have one - I noticed a lot of new planes didn't.
-
Okay' date=' I will have a look at setfuel code. Thanks! Does this map have land locations or is it all sea? And are you sure it's a bombing attack and not just a recon mission?
-
Then set it and all other folders and files inside to WRITE (not Read Only).
-
Okay, I'll have a look and see if I can fix it for the next build. Thanks for catching it.
-
Is your DCG folder or subfolders or files within it set to READ ONLY?
-
Weird. I would have said it's the payloads.dcg and allpayloads.dcg files that are in Lonestar's Solomons campaigns, except that you're saying it's also happening in one of the stock campaigns.... Anyway, try deleting those two files from his campaigns (and maybe the class.dcg file too) and see what happens.
