  2. Hi All, Welcome to the International Flanders In Flames Online War! If you have not already signed up in the past, and are a new pilot to FIF, please post below with the following information: Your In-Game Name: Your Squadron affiliation (with squadron website if possible): Your preferred side (Central, Entente or Don't Care): Your timezone: Your post within this thread is very important, as it lets us know who to give forum access to. After posting within this thread, please be patient. It may take up to 24 hours before your request to join a group has been approved. Please note: the two teams in FIF are not affiliated with either in-game side! After a campaign phase, they will swap sides, allowing everyone to fly all aircraft. If you don't get assigned to your preferred side the first time, you'll eventually be rotated to it (usually within 4 to 6 weeks). Thanks and Salut! JG1_Klaiber

  5. I'm curious what other people will say. But for me: The rest of the Albatrii (the Albatros D.III and Albatros D.II) are always a good choices. They're used on servers a lot. And in tournaments. Another two German aircraft to consider are the Pfalzes. The Pflaz D.III isn't the best thing out there, but it's beautiful, a lot of fun to fly, and very forgiving. And the Pfalz D.XII is an excellent high altitude energy fighter. It has a very strong wing, and is an excellent diver. And if you'd like to bomb, you can't go wrong with the DFW C.V. We also use the Halberstadt CL.II a lot as well. I'm not as good with Entente aircraft, but I'd recommend checking out the Camel, the Nieuport 17.C1, and the Hanriot HD.1. And their two seaters are excellent. Not sure if that helps at all.
  6. This sounds like a lot of fun. I'll try and make it.
  7. Hi Walrus, Thanks for posting! I'll drop you an email later tonight. Talk more then.
  8. Wow is right! Amazing pictures, Lee! So glad you got the chance to see the Galápagos Islands. It sounds like a wonderful trip.
  9. Sorry to hear that your Thrustmaster broke, vW! Hope you're able to fix it soon.
  10. You're very welcome.
  11. I think that sounds great Butzzell! Would love to give it a shot.
  12. Thanks Hess.
  13. Cool, I'll email you again tonight.
  14. Hi Ian_15, I sent you an email this morning. Let me know if you didn't get it. Since you have gmail, if the email seems blank, click the line in the email. The message could have gotten lost in the "trimmed content".
  15. Same as Brit. I had to offset my TrackIR camera to the left. I found that all of my view problems were related to the position of the camera in comparison to the TrackClip Pro.
  16. I've had the TrackClip Pro for years now, as well. It's pretty durable, and easily MacGyver'd (as Brit mentioned). Personally, I find the LEDs much better.
  17. Hi Hess, Do you use the TrackClip Pro (which is a boom that hangs from your headset)? Or do you use the TrackClip (which sits on a ball cap)? http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/accessories/ If you use the regular TrackClip (which sits on a hat), consider switching to the TrackClip Pro (which hangs from your headset). Because the Pro uses Active LEDs, it may give you less of a problem with your prescription glasses. The other thing you can try to do is go into the TrackIR 5 software (which I'm assuming you use despite having the TrackIR 4), and then attempting to adjust the sensitivity of the software. There is a window that lets you see what the IR sensor is seeing. Additionally, inside the software, make sure when using the TrackClip Pro (which hangs from the headset) to reduce the IR brightness to 0. You can find this in TrackIR software > Camera > IR Brightness This will switch off the IR-LEDs for illumination inside the camera. The TrackClip Pro has it own LEDs, so there is no need to shine IR light on your head/glasses. Let me know if any of this helps.
  18. Hi Ian_15, Thanks for posting! It's great to meet you. As Hotlead mentioned, a joystick is definitely going to help you. Regarding your application, I'll drop you an email tonight!
  19. If it's an April Fool's joke, it's an advanced one with back-dating and references. A far as I can tell "Automatic Colorization" Neural Networks are a real thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MJU8VK2PI4 http://www.i-programmer.info/news/105-artificial-intelligence/9330-automatic-colorizing-photos-with-a-neural-net.html
  20. Hi Guys, Another article, found while surfing: http://kotaku.com/save-the-cat-or-die-trying-vr-asks-1768369251 Perhaps a test for new members?
  21. Hi Guys, I saw this today while surfing. http://gizmodo.com/this-software-creates-vivid-color-pictures-from-black-a-1768422767 Basically, to quote the article, it's a "new computer vision system that takes a grayscale image and then adds color to it in a way that looks convincing to humans... It doesn’t necessarily choose the right colors, merely ones that look plausible". There is a link at the bottom of the Gizmodo article, where you can try it out for yourself. I am dying to try some black and white photographs of WW1 German aircraft. However, I wasn't able to figure out how to make it work. I don't have IPython notebook, for example. If someone does give it a shot, please post your results! I'm dying to see what it does.
  22. Great video Barton! And nice dodging of the wings!
