Hi All, Barring something unforeseen, there will be a FIF XXI map test tonight (Wednesday, January 28th) at 8:45PM EST. We will be using the No. 42 server. This map test is designed to make sure everything is working properly, before moving on to the official FIF dry-run. Hope to see you there!

Hi All, The Wing Walkers have posted a wonderful video compilation of WWWringer's memorial flight. You can check it out here. Additionally, there are a few very nice images here. Barton and I were in attendance. The missing man formation was very moving. Wringer will be missed.

You can never fly the MiG too much. Funny enough, every time I'm forced onto an airliner, I always stare out the window trying to see how quickly I can spot "bogeys". So you're in good company.

That's awful news, Geezer. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. When Wringer was XO, I remember flying and talking to him all the time. We'll miss him, and would be honored to attend the memorial. Which IL-2 will you fly? '46, Clod or BoS?

Hawkeye makes a good point regarding a "gift registry". Our community is large enough to support this. So no one should feel that they need to vote no due to not having the aircraft.

S! All, With FIF XX now concluded, there has been a lot of talk about how we can make Flanders In Flames even better for 2015! On Wednesday, January 7th, representatives from Black Haze, Jasta 5, Jagdgeschwader 1, and No.42 Squadron met on TeamSpeak to discuss the tournament. What came out of this meeting were a lot of good ideas on how to move forward. Not only were BH and J5 members added to the list of tournament coordinators, but it was decided that two new rules would be added to the tournaments ruleset. Firstly, all participating squadrons should be prepared to fly for either the Central Powers or the Entente Powers. And secondly, mission nights should always be run, regardless of team numbers, or the amount of discos. Two specific question, however, were not answered during this meeting. Instead, it was felt that these questions should be brought before the entire FIF community (as well as those outside the community who may be interested in joining). I won't explain why the questions are being asked, for fear of influencing votes. And I can't promise that the results of this poll will signal change. I can say, however, that the commanders of all of the participating squadrons will be looking at the results. And that this data will help us make better decisions in the future. Thanks in advance for participating in this poll!

High Command found out about the rampant fraternization during the Holidays, and both Central and Entente pilots are being sent back into the skies to reignite the bloody campaign. Mission #4 of FIFXX will be played on Wednesday, January 14th. Server Start is at 8:45PM EST, with Mission Start at 9:00PM EST.
