    The VP of the company I work for has a famous great-great uncle. "George Puryear was my great-great uncle, the brother of my great grandfather Will Puryear. There were seven boys born and raised in Dixon Springs, TN. Another of the brothers was Alfred Puryear, who was also an Army officer in the Great War, stationed in Paris and assigned to the “Lighter than Air†service. Alf made a career of the Army, as did another brother Rom (Major General Romulus Wright Puryear, USAF). I knew Uncle Alf well, as he did not pass until 1982 and so I was fortunate to hear him tell of his experiences. I have his sword, and my brother, named after him, has his uniform and medals. George was killed on takeoff in 1919 while stationed in San Diego when his engine cut out." The VP presented me today a copy of George's original typed Journal.
