Here's the report on Stormbirds: https://stormbirds.blog/2024/04/04/eagle-dynamics-and-razbam-clash-in-public-statements/
Not looking good for the long awaited MiG-23. 😣 I hope that they are able to work out their differences.

Btw I was slightly damaged, Winchester and low on fuel otherwise would have been tempted to give a proper greeting 😅

Just watched that video you sent klaiber, so cool! I love back and forth between soviets and western aircraft, its like a space race but with planes.

Just found out this particular 23 was lost in an airshow. That's so heartbreaking. Rip Mig 23

Sorry @Raptor, just sitting down now.
I'll definitely be online tomorrow.

Im about to fly on DCS until the gents get on for the 'NA IL2 practice'. If anyone wants to hop in, Ill be in the discord VC!

Yeah, the MiG-23 is very important for REDFOR.  The first Soviet look-down/shoot-down radar system.  It'll be a game changer on servers like Engima's.
The MiG-17 is primarily a gunfighter.  No missiles in early models.  Missiles only in later models.  MiG-17PF and beyond.
The MiG-19 is transitional - mostly gunfighter, again with a limited missile capability.
However, rate-fighting maneuverable gunfighters, using the right tactics, can be used to devastating effectiveness.

Ohhhh I love that as well! When he describes the elation of the Germans when they have Paris in sight only to turn away to fight somewhere else is really well done. How he presented it really gave me a perception of what they felt as they were so close yet so far...

Kinda went down a rabbit hole with the 23, saw a Enigma video explaining how the 23 is the "missing puzzle piece" for the cold war game loop and I have to say he made some good points with his presentation.

His overview of WW1 is fantastic.

Oh yes.  We're very excited for the MiG-23.  And the MiG-17 as well: https://stormbirds.blog/2024/01/01/red-star-simulations-mig-17-update/

So I dont know if this is the right place to put it because it seems most people put music here however I have been listening to a lot of Dan Carlin's "Hardcore History" podcast. If you like a history at all, give him a shot! I highly recommend to go to his website and look at his older stuff too. His youtube has some stuff to browse but my all-time FAVORITE is one called "The what-ifs of 1066".

There are a few of us that are looking forward to the Mig-23 so I'm sure we will use these in some form of another.

Just started watching the show on Netflix "The Gentlemen", so far (two episodes in) it has been a fun watch with some great writing.
