Do the carriers operate in a patrol box (prd) or on a sealane (srd)? If on a srd, if it doesn't loop, the carrier will end up "leaving" the map or starting off the map and will be unavailable at that time.

Latest beta integrates the [Mods] section of the mission. If a [Mods] section is added to the template mission, it will get imported into the campaign. Alternatively, a user can create a mds.dcg file in their campaign folder for use. Also added the Semovente 75/18 to the ground unit data. Edit: removed attachment.

On closer inspection, "4-Semovente_751840" should work. The string extracted is 18 characters long. So it just needs to be run right into the next value with no spaces.

Can you add it to the [MDS] file for each campaign? Just cut and paste it into that file. I don't think DCG manipulates the data in that file at all. It just copies it right over.

You have both "full control" and "modify" permissions set? I'm not sure what else to suggest.

Strange. You may need to go in and change all the subfolders and files inside the main folder to read/write first.

This usually happens when you've made the DCG folder and/or subfolders read-only. You need to allow DCG to write to them. (I really should put an exception message in there that makes sense.)

It's been years since I looked at that campaign so the various patches of IL2 may have changed the behaviour of planes (causing crashes at take off). As far the Spitfires never flying all the way, check the campaign radius. If it's too small (25 kms or even 50 kms) that may be the reason. You want the radius to be at least as many kilometres as the distance between the nearest British airbase and the nearest German airbase (and having it at least 50% further is even better).

Adding another field in the class file could be a real pain. How many planes are there now? (I know I could default them and let users set them). Of course, then the GUI needs another box.

Haha. Now you have me thinking about DCG just compiling a list on it's own based on the results in the log file. Multiple crashes shortly after takeoff could easily be captured and DCG could restrict that type of plane from the field by compiling it's own restriction file. Of course, it could also be modified by the player. You are a very bad influence!

I could add a file as you suggest, but what a pain it would be to manage!

You've got "auto-generate" checked under the MODE menu. Which is fine. I recommend you check it AND check the "Replace Career Generator". Then close DCG, open up your game and generate a mission like you would using the campaign generator (DGEN) that came with the game.

Is it not enough to set Zilina (and other really bad airfields) to airstrips to keep the big planes off them...? Alternatively, reverse the take off direction?

Welcome! The install instructions are in the download. Just look for the "Installation and Settings Instructions.txt" file. And don't worry, the beta will work. There are many dedicated users of DCG that are quick to let me know when it doesn't.
