  1. Hearts of Iron IV is really good, but its almost all strategic.
  2. Thank you, and congrats to my fellow awardees. I'd also like to say thank you to the other members of the squadron for their assistance, advice and training.
  3. Now you guys did it. They're in a very narrow RAGE. Must mean Butzzell set the flak at high
  4. I love the fact that we still have these 70+ year old airplanes still flying. Though, I would hate to have to feed those gas-guzzling monstrosities.
  5. I have already started a campaign/Tournement level MP mission. "The March on Moscow". Starts in Aug 15 1941, on the Velikiyeluki Map. The LVII and the XXXX German Panzer Corps attempts to retake Velikiyeluki after loosing the city back in July.
  6. The JG1 training mission I made is ready. I finished it on Tues. On request from last night, I started on another training mission for high level bombing practice. This one will have 3 levels of difficulty. The first is located in the north of the map and has the targets in a straight line, with little to no Flak defense. The center of the map will have staggered targets, with light to moderate flak defense. There will only be 2 targets in the south. One high value target (maybe a Supply Depot (many targets within, but still tightly packed) moderate to heavy Flak defense. The final target is a factory complex within a large city. I'm thinking of making a Multiple aircraft joint attack. (A Recon flight goes in to locate and activate the target. Will possibly encounter light to moderate Flak, and maybe a single or element enemy fighter patrol). A 110/109 Jabo strike package against the nearby airfield. Success or failure of that mission will determine aerial opposition for the main bomber strike and her escorts. The bomber force will be intercepted inbound to the target and outbound from the target. Over the target, will have heavy Flak, and based on what the recon pilot can relate to the group, they will have to pick the factory out from within the city proper. If I can make it work (mainly with the size of the city) I'll put in 4 different targets within the city, the recon flight will activate 1 of those. What do you all think?
  7. Congrats all, well done
  8. Is the first 2 hour segment held at 1900-2100 GMT, then the 3 hour segment from 2100 - 2400 GMT? Or are these held on 2 separate Fridays? Or is it run concurrently?
  9. Yeah, so am I. If anything, I want to see how they put the mission together. Looks extremely complicated, and in my experience, complicated = fun
  10. The perceived rotation around the CG in external view, would be explained in the last quote from the book, its probably the start of an incipient spin.
  11. The stalling speed of the Fw 190A-4 in clean configuration was 127 mph (204 km/h) and the stall came suddenly and virtually without warning, the port wing dropping so violently that the aircraft almost inverted itself. In fact, if the German fighter was pulled into a g stall in a right turn, it would flick out into the opposite bank and an incipient spin was the inevitable outcome if the pilot did not have its wits about him.
  12. In regards to a FW 190 allied flight test in 1944: "A good dogfighter and a good gun platform called for just the characteristics that this German fighter possessed in all important matters of stability and control. At the normal cruise of 330 mph (530 km/h) at 8000 ft (2400 m), the stability was very good directionally, unstable laterally, and neutral longitudinally."
  13. Just one word of note, during the late 30's, 40's and early 50s, all the countries were experimenting with different wing configurations. While in flight school, Aero-Physics, we were discussing some of these issues and experimentations. I would have to find my notes on this to know 100%, but one of the German fighters (could have been the 190?) was designed with a slightly different, angle of Incidence on one wing, which would change the angle of attack of that wing, causing the airplane to stall on the same wing, no matter the attitude. When I saw your stall tests of the 190, it reminded me of that discussion in class, and the pros and cons of the idea. What I saw in both cases with the 190 (BoS/DCS) was in the left turn stall, the airplane did rotate around the CG, kinda weird, but again I'd have to find my A-P notes.
  14. BoS is actually 66% off, and several of the add-on aircraft are also discounted (La-5, 190: $10, P-40, MC 202: $14), and BoM is right around 50% off. The Yak-1 and JU-52 looks to still be full price
  15. Battle of Stalingrad and Battle of Moscow went on sale today, looks to be about 50% off?
  16. In ROF, most of the time its short, then when I try to compensate, thinking its the speed difference between the aircraft, I hit long.
  17. I've flown the 111 in CLoD, and did a bombing mission, hitting my target, but its like only the 2nd time I've ever flown the plane. The 88 in CLoD, I've flown 4 or 5 times, but I only ever dive bomb with it, so I dont know about its level bombing. Funny, I can hit targets bombing in the 111, 88, 87 and 110, in CLoD, but cant hit the broad side of a barn in ROF.
  18. Really??? There's only 2????? Because of the number of different tanks available in CLoD, i actually expected to have even more available in BoS/M. Especially considering the tank battles on the eastern front were some of the biggest and grandest of the war. The only other theater that you hear or read about the tank battles is the African Corps vs the British
  19. How would you handle players who decided to drive a tank? Would it be something similar to being a gunner in ROF, unlimited lives, or would you just ban people from driving them?

  21. Genitorturers is a industrial metal fetish band. Some of my more favorite songs really shouldn't be played in a public venue without child controls, but they're really good. I have also thought the same thing about them in regards to Rob Zombie, which is another band I like listening to. Another band I like is Arch Enemy. I got to meet Angela Gossow, when I went to a concert at the Rave in Milwaukee with my son who was playing with his band in the next room over. (I kinda sorta feel shitty about that, cause I went over and watched Arch Enemy instead of my son LOL. He was Ok with it though, cause I got to meet her. He had already met her and he was like, "She's pretty awesome huh?")

  23. My wife has only ever forbid me from going to 1 concert.....Genetorturers. They played here in Kenosha. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7kiwJ_qN4U
  24. My son and I went to see them a few years back when they came through Milwaukee. They are Awesome. I'd say if you have a chance to go, then go. If they're coming through the US again, I hope they pass through Wisconsin, cause I'll defiantly go again.
