  4. Wait, is the fps hit with HUD just Oculus or with the game in general?
  5. haven't tried it yet, but I just created a macro in the saitek controller tied to a keyboard key to see if that works or not
  6. Been trying to set that up for now voice activation for now, but as we know, any loud noise activates it and can mess up comms, especially during a comp
  7. http://forum.teamspeak.com/threads/129801-3-1-x-Can-t-set-hotkey-with-my-Joystick-Gamepad Yeah the link is above. Its not effecting keyboards, only controllers (gamepads and joysticks, then only certain ones, from what I can gather. Namely CH and Saitek products)
  8. Seems odd to me, especially during that time period, and the described mission of the aircraft that anyone within the government would summarily order the destruction of the aircraft. Has the REAL reason ever been declassified or become public record?
  9. For the last couple of days, I've been trying to get my saitek to work with TS to no avail. After pouring through the forum, it seems this has been an ongoing issue since update 3.1.1, and they still have yet to fix the issue with 3.1.16. The primary issues that I read is the program doesn't recognize the button release, so when attempting to set a hotkey, it sits, waiting for a second input (which is my problem now), for those with hotkeys already assigned, they will eventually just stop working and you will have to hammer on your button multiple times before it activates. The thing thats kinda concerning for me on this, is on a 5 page topic on this, I saw 4 dev responses. The people that took the time to write and indicate that they fixed their issue, most reinstalled 3.1.0 or 3.0.19, while several others indicated that they were moving on to discord and uninstalling ts3. If anyone has had the same issue and discovered a fix, it would be awesome if you could let me know what you did, or if you have a copy of 3.0.19 x64, post it up so I can DL it and get my ts working
  10. Quick release for easy bail-outs
  11. I'm guessing, strictly a gaming computer? I'd hate to have to type a 5 page essay around the flight stick LOL
  12. To hell with the chicken, go straight for the goat
  13. I am steadily plowing away at it for BoX. The only hang-up at this point is finding that sweet spot between too much ground activity (then the game fails for function correctly) and too little (virtually a static environment). Once I find that point, then the mission can move to the servers for a beta test. The overall mission is finished, just trying to get the ground battle to work
  14. Ok, so an SSD is a separate thing from the HD?
  15. Got a couple of questions that I cant find any real answers to. The computer comes with 120gb of SSD. From what I have read and my understanding, SSD is primarily used for the computer's sleep mode, so when you restart the computer, it loads what was in memory immediately as long as you have not turned off the computer. Now, I read somewhere else that someone installed their P3D sim onto their SSD so they get better frame rates. Is it even possible to install to the SSD partition, and if so, wouldn't it just default back to the regular HD at that point?
  16. Well, ordered the new computer last night. Picking up an AMD Ryzen 5 1600x with a gtx 1060
  17. Wow, just looked up KSFZ. Logan to the NE, Providence to the South, another Charlie airspace to the West. I learned to fly in Kenosha, and currently fly out of Waukegan ( http://vfrmap.com/?type=vfrc&lat=41.921&lon=-71.491&zoom=10) Dealing with Bravo (especially KORD) and Charlie airspace can be a hoot.
  18. Thanks. After reading I started to look into other cards and realized that I hadn't really taken a hard look at the different processors, completely missed the Ryzen 5. Still trying to learn about the Turbo settings and what they are, if it comes stock on the cores and is an automatic thing or if its akin to OC. But, the Ryzen 5 1500X is 3.5 ghz, going up to 4.0 turbo??? I found 2 prebuild Ryzen 5's, one with a 1050TI for $870, the other with a 1060 for $1080.
  19. Started looking at new computers last night. Mine's 5+ years old and starting to show its age (I bought Total War Warhammer, and can just barely run it). After looking at several prices, comparisons and benchmarks, it looks like I'm staying with the AMDs. So the one I'm staring very hard at is an AMD FX 6300 3.5 ghz 6-core with a GTX 1050 Ti for around $700. I could do without all the LED bs, I'm sure that added another $30-$50 to the price tag, but oh well. (Seems to be a 30-50 frame machine (30's on BF 1) Couldn't find any benchmarks on this rig with P3D v3, which beside ROF and BoX is the sim I fly the most). Really in the benchmarks the only thing that really put this machine to shame was the I7 OC to 4.2 giving BF1 upwards of 60 fps. (but for $3k it wont give 60 fps in my house). This will be the first time in about 15 years that I'm stepping away from Radion Graphics cards, so kinda unsure about the GTX 1050 Ti
  20. The wife and I will be going to see it on Tuesday
