Those of us running servers for IL2, @Moxy, @Kliegmann, @Wittmann. Be aware that there was an update for IL2 today and the servers will likely need updating as well.

This event is strictly player vs. player (with minor exceptions in AI supply columns, trains, ships and AI guns / tanks at capture points. The guns / tanks are not mobile). The success of this event is highly dependent on player participation. Last Saturday's dry run attendance was low, therefore for maximin team play, it will require your attendance. Especially tankers. Registration is encouraged, for team balance, but all are welcome and will be included. There have not been many events well attended recently in IL2 Great Battles (with the possible exception of JG5s Black September) and there are discussions in the community that online events are currently in a downward spiral. Some good points here. For sure get the latest graphics driver. I initially had a complete PC crash. Updating driver fixed it. I also got the latest CPU driver to be safe. He makes a good point about allowing time for the fxo and metashader files to re-build. I always delete them prior to any update.

I've looked around but can't really find anything on Nvidia Control Panel settings. I haven't changed anything from what I had in the past. Anyone have some info?

I'm currently focused on historical skins that don't necessarily have anything to do with JG1 and I'm thinking that these historical skins have no need to be in the skinpack (with the possible exception of the Walter Oesau skin https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3320924/). There is really no need to have JG1 members DL these historical skins unless they want to. Our squadron skins should be the only "mandatory" skins since they are for inter squad identification. Any historical should be announced in a separate thread here: @Klaiber, Should we pare down the current DCS skinpack? I would be happy to revise it.

Certainly none of the DDR Fishbeds were bare metal and I'm pretty sure that most other countries were not bare aluminum either. Plastic modelers are good at research. From Britmodeler.com: From Jyrki Laukkanen's book MiG-21 about MiG-21F-13 painting: General exterior finish: base coat AK-113F clear dope top coat AC-16 clear dope with 7% PAK-4 aluminium powder added High temperature resistant paint KO-814 on part of rear fuselage and other relevant areas. Finish over milled skin panels/plates: primer FL-086 mid coat clear dope 170A with 10% PAK-4 aluminium powder added top coat AC-16 dope (= overall) Radome and other glass fiber covers green EP-225 epoxy paint. I interpret the darker areas on the MiG-21F photo posted by Ray_W to be milled surfaces (load carrying areas with stronger/thicker alloy). The "uniform grey" finishing system: During MiG-21F overhauls if corrosion status so dictated the plane was treated overall with uniform tone finish of: primer KF-030 clear dope 170A 10% PAK-4 aluminium powder added top coat AC-16 High temperature areas KO-814 paint as usual Laukkanen lists "uniform" tone has been on: MG-48, -61, -63, -65, -79, -91 and -92. So no natural metal for MiG-21F. These were Soviet finishes! Douglas A-20G Boston, A28-67 DU-V of No 22 Sqn., RAAF This A-20G was delivered in August 1944 and served with the Squadron until it was damaged in an air raid in October 1944 and was later reduced to components. Standard Olive Drab upper surfaces over Neutral Gray undersides. Note heavy weathering and darker shade of Olive Drab tail fin with Medium Green splotching on the rudder.
