  1. Yeah, this is my jam... Hoping for this in DCS or IL2.
  2. For those used to DCS, it requires a couple more button presses... In upper right corner of control assignment window, click on "Find command" tab In the window that opens, select "By assignment" tab Then press your button or move axis and the current assignment will be shown. Quote
  3. Doesn't seem to work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
  4. https://il2sturmovik.com/news/840/update-5202-spitfire-mkixc-all-bon-owners-iar-8081/?_gl=1*1lnb6b5*_ga*OTIzMzYzNzE5LjE3MDYzOTY2MTc.*_ga_M3ND9NY3EC*MTcwODQ1OTI1Ni41My4xLjE3MDg0NTk0NzcuMC4wLjA. IMO, this is the best part of the update: you search for an assigned command by pressing a button on your control device
  5. Loved WOP! It was my first serious foray into multiplayer / joining a squad and where I got my handle. The squad was JS109 and all members were Vons with their initials as the last 2 letters... we had Vonmo, Vonki and, of course Vonrd...
  6. Halfway through Masters of the Air. It's long but keeps my interest. I haven't read much so far that I didn't know with the exception of the common belief that Hitler was the cause of the Me-262 delay due to his insistence on it being a Schnellbomber. He did insist but nobody obeyed and he relented soon after. Difficulties in getting the engines produced and made (somewhat) reliable is what mostly killed it. Also didn't know this interesting bit that the raids on oil production (Ploesti, etc.), even though extremely costly eventually had a fair affect on POL production. However, not many raids on the synthetic fuel facilities (POL from coal, which Germany has in abundance) were done and Speer said that 2 to 3 weeks of attacks on them would have completely crippled the ability to wage war. They produced the vast majority of POL as well as the chemicals needed for explosives / munitions. It's a good accompaniment for watching the series.
  7. Just saw Alanis on Austin City Limits. Great show and she performs like she's in her 20s but she's almost 50 with 3 kids. Worth a watch. Mikeindialimafoxtrot!
  8. Me. I think Dudley and Jaus might also
  9. InControl will block feature updates like 24H2 while still allowing security updates... for a while at least. https://www.grc.com/incontrol.htm
  10. I smell class action lawsuit brewing...
  11. For VR and DCS, $3K is an average starting point. For IL2 only and 2D $1K would get you a satisfactory machine. My opinion only, your (and others) milage may vary.
  12. Definitely do so! If you have a budget in mind, that would help. Also, whether you would want to fly DCS or any other sims / games. DCS is very CPU demanding compared to IL2. For the record here's my PC specs. CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X MOBO - Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX Memory - G.Skill DDR5-6000 (2 ea 32Gb) Graphics card - PNY GeForce RTX 4080 Storage - 2 each 2TB P3 NVMe PCIe 3.0 M.2 Internal SSD VR - Reverb G2 using OpenXR latest build OS - Mindows 11 Pro 64 bit
  13. I built mine. It's not that difficult and there are lots of youtubes to follow. Still, it's nail biting the first time you turn it on...
  14. Just a few of us do and I'm, personally, out of practice. Our focus is Cold War Warsaw pack but we do fly many modules including WWII, Rotorcraft, Modern... F-14, F-16, A-10, etc but we're not experts at those. Our expertise is the MiGs, Hind / Blackshark and several of the FC3 planes.
  15. Lots of good comments in the replies.
  16. J10 and @Jaus have signed up as well as myself. Hoping other JG1s will join.
  17. Early Corsairs had the outer wings bays aft of the main spar covered in fabric: " the Corsair was also the last American-produced fighter aircraft to feature fabric as the skinning for the top and bottom of each outer wing, aft of the main spar and armament bays, and for the ailerons, elevators, and rudder"
  18. Looks interesting and fresh / different: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/87265-battle-of-the-channel-1918-special-fc-multiplayer-event/
  19. Actually, I missed that
  20. I always thought that this song was really a country song. This version reinforces that for me.
  21. The true way this creepy song should be performed. Made my hairs stand on end.
  22. Can anyone ID a mistake in the verbal? (there may be more than one actually).
  23. There's also one on the Me-262 and the Okha.
  24. Here's a Partenavia (unfortunately crashed killing both crew)
  25. A Finnish PC-12
