Worked perfectly. I also had to restrict USAAF/RAF planes from Swiebodzin_Airfield, which is the other Airfield under Allied control at the start of the campaign. At campaign creation, they start at Unknown, but from the second mission onwards they go to English_Airfield. So, solved, I guess. I suppose I'll have to go checking when I capture an airfield if they transfer to that airfield, and then adding it to the airfield restrictions, but that's nothing. By the way, what does work before the start of a campaign? Because it's nuts watching a Bf-109 trying to catchup with an Arado jet.

It's super weird because you did fix the issue with the PLM's. I tested it and everything. It's like it defixed(?). While we are on the topic of timetables, what does and doesn't work setting it before the start of a campaign? Setting escort? Paintschemes? Creating and removing convoys? What else?

Have you tried this? https://superuser.com/questions/837674/running-a-program-with-a-custom-resolution-in-windows-7 You can try the above solution or maybe someone can borrow you an old monitor and connect both monitors to your pc and change screen resolution in one. I know is suboptimal, but's all I can think of.

Hi! This is a follow up question to this and this. The setting is Berlin. I added some squadrons with the master file. Some PLM's (the Soviet-Polish) squadrons start in English Airfield. Some RNZAF, RAF and USAAF squadrons start in Myedricz Airfield. As a workaround I tried adding and moving said squadrons with timetable.dcg. The issue is that if I use a date before the start of the campaign, nothing happens. If I use a date after the campaign starts, it works perfectly. What can I do? Edit: why do I always miss this? I'm using beta 3.50#2 Edit2: previous 3.50 didn't have the PLM's issue, but 3.49 did, I remember.

Would it be possible for you to try to use this? https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/increase-text-size-computer

airfield threatened no matter where the front is
Fhechene replied to slippery_jim's topic in DCG Public Discussion
Try to see if there is a blue front marker near the airfield in which you start. Maybe there is one below the x axis. See if Axis has some offmap airfield or offmap location. -
I may only have a clue for #1. My guess is that you should add airfields to the corresponding .rds file. And then, you could add those to the airfields.dcg file. If I remember correctly, airfields.dcg adds take-off waypoints to your airfield, but I can't actually remember. For #2 what I ended up doing was replacing the 1 car convoys for stationary objects. I placed them in places that I remembered they were always attacked. Maybe you could add them In strategical points in which you know the front will be.

best version for modifying 'Master' missions?
Fhechene replied to slippery_jim's topic in DCG Public Discussion
Sometimes is because the Squads are miswritten. For example, instead of "fiLLv26fi01" in the mis file I wrote "dklhdfjkgvbr01". The origin of that maybe in the squadrons.dcg file. -
I did a workaround for IL2 not starting with DCG DGen.exe
Fhechene replied to Fhechene's topic in DCG Public Discussion
Exactly. You could also do this with MAT manager -
I refused to abandon 4.14, but I also refused to abandon DCG, so this is what you have to do 1. Open the folder in which you have 4.14 installed 2. Rename the stock dgen to something like dgen_stock._exe. For your game to start IT MUST NOT HAVE THE .EXE EXTENSION. 3. Open DCG and go to 'Replace stock dgen', so the DCG DGen appears in your folder 4. Create a new text file with notepad in the folder in which you have 4.14 installed. Copy and paste this Ren "dgen.exe" "dgen._exe" timeout /t 1 /nobreak start il2fb.exe timeout /t 8 /nobreak Ren "dgen._exe" "dgen.exe" The fourth line, timeout /t 8 /nobreak says that the system has to wait 8 seconds before continuing. This is so il2fb.exe has enough time to start up (not load, just start up). If you need more start up time, change the 8 to a greater number. 5. Save your file as whatever name you want, but with a .bat extension 6. From now and forever, you'll have to open this bat file. You can create a shorcut to desktop if you want.

DCG editor is able to fix - how do I hard wire the fix?
Fhechene replied to redwo1f's topic in DCG Public Discussion
In the same squadsid file you mentioned, go to the USAAF squadrons section and add 15F squadron there. Every squadoj that is not there is automatically assumed to be a German squadron -
I found sort of a solution for Lend Lease aircraft, like the P-39. I add every payload (soviet and american bombs) to the allpayloads.dcg file and then, using timetable, as idefixx44 said, I ban some payloads and add the other ones. For example, if I'm in an American campaign, I ban all FAB's, but add 500 lb bombs for bombing role or something like that. However, I can't think of a solution for different airforces in the same campaign. Like Royal Navy and US Navy and US Marines in the Pacific. For example, the TBF1. British used it as a bomber, but not Americans.
-
Ok, thanks!
-
I'm sorry. I'm not following you. Banpayload syntax is something like 19410801 BanPayload JU_88A4 = 2xSC2000 I don't see how could I ban 2xSC2000 only for German JU_88A4, but not for Italian JU_88A4, or something like that
-
I read about BanPayload and NewPayload. However, they restrict or enable payloads by plane. What planes.dat allows to do is something like "every soviet P_39Q bomber uses FAB500; every american P_39Q bomber uses 1000lb bomb"
-
Hi! In the stock DGen, there is a planes.dat file, which helps you specify payloads by country. For example, for the USSR, you can have a P_63 that only uses FAB bombs, but you can make American P_63's use 500lb and 1000 lb bombs. My question is, is this posible in DCG? Because with that option, you could restrict plane roles. For example, you could allow british Avengers I/TBF1C to bomb but you could ban American Avengers I/TBF1C to bomb

I have two questions There are some Soviet-Polish squadrons that also behave like western allied squadrons. Yo know, the PNM, the PLMs and the PLSs. Could you take a look to those too? And the other is, if I download the Beta, what do I absolutely need to install? Because as I have modified mis files, campaign files, plane files and squadron files, I don't want to lose those modifications. And, what happns if I'm already running a campaign? Ok, those were three questions. Thanks!

I was tinkering again with Masters and Data files. I started a campaign and I got the minimize window bug. For troubleshooting I (after backing up the modifications) reinstalled DCG and I got the same bug. I started campaigns that I have never modified and some of them worked, and others gave me the same bug! I swear I didn't do anything else! PS: I guess I'll have to check using spaces vs tabs on squadsid later, then Edit 1: it seems that after some more tinkering, I managed to create a campaign folder, but with no missions. I used DCG to create one mission, but I get a ' " is not a valid integer' error (one that I remember well) AND the program doesn't move beyond Create objects at Front. What I gathered from the dcgerror file was that there were more "Car Column Info processed." lines than Chiefs. I tried deleting all chiefs and NStationary objects in the master .mis file, but the result was the same, Edit2: I deleted all NStationary objects. It seems that I can create a mission file if I place only ONE NStationary object. BTW, the squadron I wanted to add worked perfectly. Edit3:I managed to fix the issue, copying and pasting the objects again to the master mis file. HOWEVER, I can't access the campaigns I was already flying. I checked if off-line career and replace dgen options were checked and they were. Edit4: I used a fix: I backed up the campaigns folders and then created new campaigns. I then deleted the recently created campaigns folders and reestablished the backed up the campaign folders AND I modified the respective campaign.ini files: I deleted all missions except dcgmission.mis So, I say, mission accomplished. I could deleted this thread, but I want it to remain for posterity, if someone has the same issues.

Hi! I have two questions I added FAA_No841SQN to squadsid, in the Royal Navy section I wanted to add a description: FAA No.841 Squadron It seems that DCG thought that FAA_No841SQN FAA No.841 Squadron was one string (because the game used FAA_No841SQN as a German squadron), however, I believe the tabulation was correct 801sq FAA No.801 Squadron 820sq FAA No.820 Squadron 827sq FAA No.827 Squadron 1701sq FAA No.1701 Squadron FAA_No841SQN FAA No.841 Squadron What I ended doing was removing the description altogether. My question is, what could have been the error? Maybe the issue WAS tabulation, after all, but I can't seem to find where was the mistake Now, the other question A campaign starts at a given date. What happens if I write something earlier than said date at the timetable? Because I've been trying to change ownership of a city at the start of a campaign, but changing the front doesn't work Something like 19430622 TCapture Axis Sasebo_Harbor That's Kyushu. Even if I change the front at Townsville or Townsville_Airfield, Sasebo_Harbor stills belongs to the Allies. Edit: from the second mission onwards, conditions of timetable apply. Something like the Normandie-Niemen issue: the first mission had a default start and then stuff happens. So, ignore the second question

Hi! I have some issues with missions that spawn He-162A The waypoints are written in the following way [1_JG1_00_Way] TAKEOFF 84601.51 40571.04 NORMFLY 80077.00 42846.00 6000.0 540.00 &0 NORMFLY 85752.00 34921.00 6000.0 540.00 &0 etc.. (notice the lack of tabulation in the TAKEOFF line and the lack of newline in the first normfly waypoint) instead of [1_JG1_00_Way] TAKEOFF 84601.51 40571.04 NORMFLY 80077.00 42846.00 6000.0 540.00 &0 NORMFLY 85752.00 34921.00 6000.0 540.00 &0 etc... as it should be This happens independently of map or squadron, as I've tested in two maps (Berlin and NWEurope) and two squadrons (1_JG1_ and I_JG1) So, could you point me in the right direction? Sorry if I ask you too much questions, but I love your DCG.

I've started the default Normandie-Niemen campaign using DCG 3.48. It seems that being French, they always start at English_Airfield, so the first mission is always a transfer from English_Airfield to Miedzyrecz_Airfield, which makes me spawn in the middle of the Axis occupied zone. So, I copied and pasted NN Esquadrilla Normandie-Niemen in the Soviet squadrons section in squadids.dcg. Now, I don't transfer in the first mission. The first mission is a fighter sweep or escort or ground convoy protection or whatever. However, the mission briefing still says that the mission is to transfer from English_Airfield to Miedzyrecz_Airfield. Any clue?

I currently don't have acces to my gaming computer, so that'll have to wait. However, if Japanese squadrons get transferred to Okinawa island, they'll get shreded to pieces beore they take-off, by nearby allied ships. That is already happening with Japanese bomber squadrons currently based on Okinawa.
